A magnificent year for Wexford Youths will hopefully get even better in the Aviva Stadium at 12.20 p.m. Sunday when the women's team based in Ferrycarrig Park takes on Shelbourne in search of a first-ever FAI Cup title.

Already the men have gained promotion to the Premier Division for the first time and claimed the Division 1 crown in the process. They took their cue from the women's Premier league success last season, and now Will Doyle's leading ladies have more silverware in their sights.

It will be Wexford's first appearance at the Aviva on the biggest day in the domestic soccer calendar, and they will make the trip to Dublin in a positive frame of mind after romping to an 8-0 win over Peamount United in their opening league fixture last weekend.

There will be a strong Wexford interest in the men's final directly afterwards too as the Cork City side to take on a double-seeking Dundalk includes Curracloe lad Kevin O'Connor who has made a huge impression in his first season on Leeside.
