Wexford Youths crowned a perfect week before the biggest crowd of the season to date in Ferrycarrig Park on Friday, May 13, with a super 2-0 SSE Airtricity Premier Division win over Shamrock Rovers, one of the aristocrats of the game in Ireland.

The home side went one up in the 19th minute when the tenacity of Gary Delaney won the ball in a good position on the right, and his delivery into the box broke to Andy Mulligan who steered a low left-footed shot to the net.

The lead could have been more as Eric Molloy was unable to capitalise on two one-on-one situations.
However, Youths' best performance of the season was crowned in the 70th minute when Shane Dunne's cross from the right was directed first-time into the far corner of the net by Chris Kenny.
There's cup action all the way in Ferrycarrig Park next week against non-league opposition. Collinstown will travel south for Tuesday's Leinster Senior Cup semi-final, while Firhouse Clover will be Friday's FAI Cup second round opponents. Kick-off time for both is 8 p.m.
