Waters chosen for Irish Rules squad

WEXFORD'S OUTSTANDING midfielder Daithi Waters has earned the nod from Irish International Rules manager Paul Earley and is included in the Ireland provisional panel for the series with Australia.

The St. Martin's clubman follows clubmate Ciaran Lyng and the great Matty Forde by being chosen to represent his country in these games.

In total 15 counties are represented on a panel of 29 that is expected to be reduced ahead of the opening Test at Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday evening next.

Waters was outstanding for his club in their victory over Shelmaliers when qualifying for their first Senior county final on Sunday last.

Another Wexford player honoured last week was Lee chin.

The Faythe Harriers clubman and dual inter-county player was included at midfield in the best Under-21 hurling team for 2013 following an impressive provincial campaign.
