BRENDAN HOWLIN FAREWELL DINNER HELD BY SCHOOL

LABOUR TD Brendan Howlin's former colleagues in the Faythe School where he taught before his election to the Dail many years ago, paid tribute to him at a dinner in the Riverbank House Hotel last Friday night.
The former primary school teacher went on extended leave following his entry into full-time politics and formally resigned from the post last year.
The principal Marie Jones and Board of Management chairman Fr. Brian Whelan didn't want to let the occasion pass without formally acknowledging his contribution to the school as a former staff member and supporter.
The farewell dinner was attended by staff and board members who listened as tributes were paid to the TD who is also a former pupil of the school.
