Audi has announced that its new Wexford 'terminal' is to open this September, creating 25 new jobs.

As was revealed in this newspaper last month, the brand has now confirmed it is moving from its existing location at the Enniscorthy Motor Company to Wexford town.

Audi Wexford wil be located along the 'motor mile', in Ardcavan. Audi says the key regional location will allow the company access to a greater catchment area.

Audi Wexford will create 25 new jobs in the coming year.

The terminal, which occupies a two-acre site, will feature a 12-car showroom and a cutting-edge workshop with seven aftersales work bays. It will also include Audi Approved plus support for premium used cars.

The construction work is being undertaken by a local builder from Newbawn, and a majority of locally based sub-contractors.

Diarmaid Boland, Dealer Principal of Audi Wexford, said: 'The opening of a dedicated Audi Wexford will allow us to bring Audi's prestigious, innovative model range to local customers, with a focus on delivering passionate customer service and a premium experience.

'Work on the site is progressing at an excellent rate and we look forward to opening our doors to the Wexford public in September this year,' he said.

Christian Gussen, Managing Director of Audi Ireland, said the Wexford Terminal would 'form a major part of Audi Ireland's regional strategy. Audi Wexford will be a positive contributor to our success'.
