THE business sector in North Wexford recently selected Aztec Design as the winner of the AIB North Wexford Small Business Award for 2016.

The win came after a process which saw members of the local business community nominate a shortlist of six businesses. These included Aztec Design, Gorey Print, Fifth Avenue, South East Financial Services, The Photo Shop and Myles Doyle Select Grocer. The same business people then cast their vote among the six nominees.

James Osborne and his team at Aztec Design, who are based in Gorey Business Park, were delighted to be announced as the winner at a recent Gorey Chamber lunch in Kelby's Restaurant in the Amber Springs Hotel.

The awards are sponsored by AIB in Gorey and organised by Gorey Chamber. The process is open to members and non-members. Keith Groarke, President of Gorey Chamber, presented the nominees with a framed certificate, sponsored by The Gaslamp Gallery. He then announced the winner, saying that Aztec came through in a particularly hard-fought campaign where voting was brisk and plentiful. He said that small business is the life blood of the country, particularly in Gorey.

Thanks went to the AIB and The Gaslamp Gallery. The winner received a piece of fused glass by craft worker Annette Whelan.
