A Wexford-based education centre has received the prestigious Business All-Star Accreditation award at a ceremony in Croke Park. The Pitman Training Centre in Westpoint Business Park, Clonard accepted the prize from the All-Ireland Business Foundation, the national body responsible for identifying and accrediting Best-in-Class Irish businesses.

Having been named Best Pitman Training Centre in the country in December of last year, the centre, which only opened last summer, was then nominated in the Best Further Education Training Provider category at the National Education Awards last month.

Acknowledging the success of the centre during its brief history, Sarah Williams, Marketing Coordinator at Pitman Training South said that much of it comes from their approach to teaching, 'We're very much focused on the person and what their career goals are. We take the time to sit down with them and go through their skills, look at what the gaps are, where they'd like to go.

'A lot of those who come to us might have stayed in a job which they weren't particularly happy in. Within six months students can change their lives really.'
