Local producers in running for best Irish Made Awards

Siimon Bourke

Two of Wexford's finest food producers have been shortlisted in the Irish Made Awards 2019.

Owned by Tom and Laura Sinnott, Wexford Home Preserves has been supplying local homes in the county with quality jams and marmalades since 1988. And they are joined in the shortlist by Naturally Cordial, the home-produced drinks company run by Clodagh Davis.

Both companies were among hundreds to enter this year's awards but, after a lengthy judging process, have reached the final stage, joining ten other businesses in the Food and Drink category.

The competition sought to Are you an Irish business to find the makers, creators, craftspeople and businesses that make buying Irish so great, with the one stipulation that they had to be made in Ireland.

Voting is now open to the public via the Irish Country Magazine's website and the winner will be announced in September. The winners and runners-up will feature in a special edition of Irish Country Magazine in October.

Furthermore, thanks to the magazine's partnership with the Kilkenny brand, each of the category winners will receive a once-in-lifetime prize from Kilkenny; the opportunity for their products to be showcased and sold in a Kilkenny store for a minimum of three months.

The Overall Winner will also have an opportunity to attend Showcase 2020 in the RDS thanks to the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, and receive an advertising package from Irish Country Magazine.
