There was joy on the double for Ramen restaurant in Wexford town when they won not one but two big titles at the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards in Dublin.

The restaurant, which is owned by Paul Hayes, was nominated for Best Lunchtime Takeaway Award through public submission and voting.

By winning that, they were automatically entered into the Best Takeaway in Leinster category and were blown away when they also nabbed that award.

Paul said: 'To win the Leinster award was amazing because it's the most heavily contested of the regions. These awards are totally customer driven so to see our customers supporting us was brilliant.'

He added that the restaurant had only been open for about 18 months and had the same team all through those months. Ramen employs upwards of 20 people.

'It was a huge surprise for us to win both awards but we're extremely proud. The award belongs to the staff and the customers because it's down to the staff's hard work and the customer's support that we won this.'
