WEXFORD chef Paul Hynes is on something of a roll.

Just days after being awarded the title of Georgina Campbell's 'Best Seafood Restaurant', Paul's La Cote restaurant on the Quays has been honoured by YesChef magazine which awarded him the 'Best Seafood Restaurant' in its newly-announced 2016 awards.

Paul said the award was a tribute to all in his team at La Cote.

And there were more honours for the county: Stephen Hunt's Tides Gastro Pub, at Rosslare, took the 'Best Newcomer' award in Leinster and the Brandon House Hotel won 'The Best Young Chef' award.

Initially started back in 2007 as Cook for Ulster, YesChef magazine now incorporates Ireland as well as Northern Ireland and has a Scottish edition.

Owner and publisher Shane Smith has appeared on RTE's 'The Restaurant' and is a former Northern Ireland winner of 'Britain's Best Dish' as well as judging at various food tasting awards including The Great Taste Awards and the Irish Food Quality Awards. Wexford has done well over the past couple of years in the YesChef awards, with Billy Whitty, Aldridge Lodge, Duncannon, awarded the 'Best Chef in Ireland' last year.
