The tourism website recorded an increase of 11.32 per cent between January 1, and October 31, 2018, compared to the same period in 2017.

In that time 145,972 hits were recorded and a linked newsletter that is also accessible through the site has 1,198 subscribers.

In a report to the members of Wexford County Council the local authority CEO, Tom Enright, said the portal currently has 32,703 likes on Facebook in addition to 16,122 Twitter impressions.

Mr Enright emphasised in the report that the focus of the web portal is to present an easy to navigate site with the overall aim of attracting national and international visitors to the entire county.

Mr Enright said the ultimate goal is to grow Co Wexford as a premier tourist destination while aligning itself with the Ireland's Ancient East initiative.
