Award-winning private bus company Wexford Bus has invested €1m into a new route for Wicklow and Arklow, which will also create ten new jobs.

The new route will provide a link for the communities of Arklow and Wicklow town to Dublin City and Airport. From June 1, the new return service will depart from Gorey up to nine times per day and will service those around the areas of Arklow Town, Ballincore, Jack Whites, The Beehive and Wicklow town.

The service will suit commuters and students.

Brendan Crowley, Managing Director of Wexford Bus said: 'Through an investment of €1 million, we are delighted to be able to launch this new route in response to regular requests from those living in South Wicklow. Not only is this a great addition to our expanding network of routes but it has also brought about the creation of ten new jobs within Wexford Bus which we are very proud of.'

He said Wexford Bus was continually striving to improve their services.

The 740A route departs from Gorey at 6 a.m., Wicklow town at 6.40 a.m. It will arrive in Leeson Street at 7.30 a.m. and Dublin Airport at 8.10 a.m.
