Now, it has been revealed that Mr Hayes, who already owns a number of diverse businesses in the town and county, including two O'Brien's Sandwich Bars, will be opening a Ramen Asian Street Food franchise in the remaining vacant section of the the town centre building.
Ramen currently has branches in and around Cork city.

'It's a naturally health alternative to fast food, a large number of the dishes are under 600 calories,' said Ramen managing partner Deirdre O'Brien, 'all our ingredients are raw and none are frozen.'
Michael Hayes could not be reached for comment, but he is already looking for staff, from cooks to front of house staff for his latest venture.
