Wine tasting events return to Kelly's, Rosslare Strand
The highly popular wine tasting events at Kelly's Resort return this March with two exceptional winemakers, Eric Forest, Pouilly-Fuissé and Domaine Montirius showcasing their exceptional wines. These wine tasting events are aimed to please all wine enthusiasts', from novice to connoisseur.
The wine event runs from Monday, March 5 to Thursday, March 8.
Eric Forest runs the vineyards that have been passed on from father to son for eight generations and produces five exclusive vintages of Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Macon-Vergisson on plots of vines planted between 1930 and 1979.
Eric's grandfather, who possesses a vast knowledge in nature and biodynamics, has greatly influenced his approach to wine making.
A tasting not to be missed on Monday, March 5 and Tuesday, March 6 from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Domaine Montirius, it is one of the stars of the appellation, and deservedly so, judged by the care afforded to its wines by Christine and Eric Saurel. They represent the fifth generation to work this 57-hectare Domaine in the heart of Vacqueyras, which includes wines from Gigondas and Vaucluse also.
Their property is now farmed entirely by biodynamic principles. Tasting: Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8, from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 7 Kelly's Resort Hotel will host a special Wine Tasting Dinner with interesting food and wine pairings. Spaces are limited so pre-booking essential and costs €35 (meal included in hotel full & half board packages).
