Well-known Wexford town man Tommy Tierney dies
A well-known Wexford man has died at the age of 72.
Thomas (Tommy) Tierney, from Bishops Park, passed away on Saturday (May 9).
While he worked as an electrical appliance repairer, he was perhaps best-known as one of the town's top amateur sportsmen, excelling in snooker, golf and bridge in his latter years.
He is the beloved husband of Nancy and father of Frances, Glen, Shirley, Ann and the late David. He is sadly missed by them all, his sister Margaret, sons in law, daughter in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, great grandchilden, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Tommy will be reposing at his residence from 12 noon on Tuesday (May 12) until 6 p.m. to Bride Street Church, with his funeral taking place after 12 noon Requiem Mass on Wednesday (May 13) followed by burial at Crosstown Cemetery.
