Wexford's Toddy is sadly missed by family and friends
Thomas Hynes, or Toddy as he was fondly known, died in Wexford General Hospital on Christmas Eve following an illness he faced with strength and spirit.
He was 80 years old, born on August 9, 1934, to parents Nicholas and Jane Hynes.
A native of Maudlintown, he was reared on Hantoon Road, then moved to Fishers Row before marrying Pauline Carty and setting up home in Antelope Road, Maudlintown.
Toddy took huge pride in his work as a plasterer and travelled far and wide practising his skilled trade. He had a passion for sport, playing both gaelic football and his beloved hurling in his day. He also loved sailing and was a keen gardener. He had a huge interest in reading and always had a book on the go. Toddy had a true love of music and was a gifted dancer.
Toddy loved to socialise in Brady's Pub and the Sailing Cot with all his friends.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Pauline, his children Cal, Tommy, Jennie, Michelle, Nicky and Matthew and his beloved grandchildren, Shannon, Niamh, Holly, Todd, Tadhg, Lee and Sam and will be sadly missed by all his friends and family members.
