ONE of the best known townhouse B&B's in Wexford has come on the market at a price of €295,000.

The house at 3 Auburn Terrace is being sold on behalf of Wexford hotelier and businessman Michael Tierney by Sherry Fitzgerald Haythornthwaite.

Formerly McMenamin's Townhouse, 3 Auburn Terrace was bought by Mr. Tierney near the height of the market in 2005.

Mr. Tierney had planned to incorporate the house into a boutique hotel embracing all of the 18th Century terrace, however, that never happed and the house still has most, if not all, of its original features.

Stephen Barry, from Sherry Fitzgerald-Haythornthwaite, said the 4,000 sq. ft house would be easy to convert back into a residence.

'For the past few years it has been used for overflow accomodation by the Riverbank House Hotel,' said Mr. Barry, 'but it could convert seamlessly into a family home with little effort.'

'It's a stone's throw from every facility and is a beautiful period house. If you want to live in the town in a house with a bit of class, this is the one,' he said.

The house has four bedrooms on the first floor and four on the second and unusually for a town centre period residence in Wexford has a side entrance, a large car parking area and a private back garden.
