Businesses are off to the Ploughing
WEXFORD BUSINESSES will be ploughing ahead this September as some 15 local businesses will be exhibiting in South East Enterprise Village at the National Ploughing Championships.
These Wexford-based companies exhibiting at this year's National Ploughing Championships will do so under the umbrella of the South East Enterprise Village, a new initiative by the South East County and City Enterprise Boards.
Alongside 47 other businesses from the region, the companies are predicting combined sales of €1.5million from the three-day event.
The South East Enterprise Village, which was launched on Wednesday onboard the Dunbrody Famine Ship, will also showcase companies from Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford City and County and South Tipperary. The South East Enterprise Village will be a first for the National Ploughing Championships, being held this year from September 25 to 27.
Representing a diverse range of business sectors, the Wexford companies, who are supported by their local Enterprise Board, are: Skytel Networks based in the Kerlogue Industrial Estate, Duggan Timber Design from Adamstown, Chevron Training from Enniscorthy, New Ross-based Croí Handmade Chocolates, Pikeman Forge from Castlebridge, Servem Limited from Duncormick, Enniscorthy based Roseacre Soaps & Natural, O'Neill Foods Ltd. from Enniscorthy, Crystal Script from Enniscorthy, Scurri.com from New Ross, Kiltra Timber & Flooring from Wellingtonbridge, Cunningham & Co Accountants based in Taghmon, Ann's Angels from Wexford Town, Ledvista Ltd from Enniscorthy and Accessorise with Elegance from New Ross.
Hoping to welcome in excess of 40,000 visitors to the Enterprise Village in the course of the ploughing, the organisers have also created a unique New Inventions area in the village, which is reserved for companies pioneering inventions for the agricultural industry.
' The National Ploughing Championships and the South East Enterprise Village are a natural fit, with Wexford companies featuring strongly in the Enterprise Village. This will provide an invaluable platform for business, generating potential for business growth and job opportunities across the local region,' said Tom Banville, acting CEO of the Wexford County Enterprise Board.
The South East Enterprise Village is organised by the local County and City Enterprise Boards in Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford City and County and Wexford.
