Camden Town hosts the Purple and Gold
THE PUPRLE AND GOLD were out in force at the London Wexford Association's 57 th annual dinner dance held recently at the Irish Centre in Camden Town.
'It was like walking into a room at home,' said Mayor of Wexford Joe Ryan, one of the special guests at the dinner dance. Also making the trip over to London to represent Wexford was County Council Chairman Michael Kinsella and County Manager Eddie Breen.
However, the undoubted stars of the show were Wexford's All-Ireland winning camogie team and manager JJ Doyle, who attended with the O'Duffy Cup. Former Wexford hurling goalkeeper Damien Fitzhenry was also there as a special guest of the association. 'It was an outstanding success, one of the best we ever had,' said Michael Sills, Chairman of the London Wexford Association.
Michael said the association were particularly delighted that some recent arrivals in London and younger people were among the 230strong crowd at the Irish Centre for the event.
