The fitness bug is biting at Clonard Ladies which recently started their RTE operation Transformation group with more than 60 adults and children successfully completing their first 6k walk.

And due to the success of this walk it was decided that to walk two nights a week, and in the mornings around Wexford Racecourse with some of the group doing circuit training two evenings.

The ladies said the reason they applied to be part of Operation Transformation was to get the Clonard Community out and about and getting fit for 2015 in a fun environment.

Not everyone joined the group to lose weight but to get fit however, 23 of the group volunteered to get weighed and lost 4 stone 8 lb in the first week, which is a fantastic achievement.

For some of the group their main goal is to successful complete the 5k run in The Phoneix Park on February 21. Clonard Ladies would like to invite new people to join the group.

You only need to be between 7-70 as its not just for Clonard Members.
