Kids have great fun in the sun
Over 150 children took part in a Summer Fun festival organised by Southend Family Resource Centre.
Youngsters enjoyed trips to Johnstown Castle, Loftus Hall, Wells House, Wexford RNLI Lifeboat Station, the North Slobs and Rosslare.
They sailed, rowed, canoed, did arts and crafts, competed in sports and planted trees on the green in Maudlintown.
The programme of events was supported by Wexford County Council, Wexford Sports Active, the Tree Council of Ireland, the Faythe School, St. Mary's Maudlintown GAA Club and Maudlintown Rowing Club.
A small army of volunteers helped out during the week including a big group of local teenagers who offered their services.
Barbecue cooks worked in searing heat to feed children and adults during a family day on the green.
Southend development worker Murt Flynn thanked everyone involved.
'We are grateful to our staff and board of management for dtheir continued support of the Summer Fun programme,' he said.
'Thanks also to the children and their parents for their commitment to the initiative.'
