OVER 200 Wexford teenagers got dressed up to go to the ball last Friday night for an annual charity event organised by transition year students.
The glamorous charity ball at the Riverbank House Hotel was held in aid of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign of the Irish Cancer Society which helped out by supplying pink balloons to decorate the venue.
The girls (and the boys) turned up the style dial for the occasion and arrived in eyecatching outfits that would have looked the part on any celebrity red carpet.
A towering cupcake display containing over 100 frosted buns wasn't just for decoration. It's contents were happily devoured by hungry ball-goers.
The Loreto transition year girls who organised the event, totted up the proceeds after all expenses had been met, and were delighted to discover that they had netted €1,680 which will be presented to the Irish Cancer Society at a later date.
