Neven Maguire: Home Chef, RTE 2, Thursday 8.30pm

The Polar Express, RTE One, Saturday 6.35pm

RTE produce a great schedule of family movies early on Saturday evening throughout the year with several Disney blockbusters making the listings.

With Christmas fast approaching and the Toy Show already over, the excitement amongst the younger ones in the house is getting fever pitch.

The Polar Express is a wonderful sentimental animated festive tale of a young boy getting a golden ticket to board a train to the North Pole to see Santa, with Tom Hanks providing the voice of the train's conductor.

Definitely one for the fireside sofa with the curtains drawn.

Close to the Enemy, BBc2, Thursday 9pm

Just as Dieter seems on the verge of helping the British fulfil their jet engine ambitions, Victor comes to Callum with proof that the German scientist may be a war criminal. And while Callum tries to find the evidence Harold needs to expose the British government's wartime secrets, he tries to keep Victor and Rachel close to him at the hotel. Jim Sturgess stars in this thriller set in post-war London.

Europa League, Maccabi Tel-Aviv v Dundalk, Eir Sport 1, Thursday 5.30

This is the final group stage match in a remarkable season for Dundalk in European football.

The border club still have a chance of progressing to the knock-out stages, but will need Zenit to win their sixth and final game, while the Lilywhites will need to beat Maccabi, while a score draw might be good enough for victory.

It has been a famine of action for Stephen Kenny's side after their feast of action towards the end of the domestic season, with just one other Europa League match their only competitive action in the past four weeks.

Injuries and illness affected the side's performance the last time out but Kenny will be hoping for a clean bill of health for this massive match.
