It's hard to imagine now, but the talking point of the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest at the RDS in Dublin was the 'shocking' moment the male members of Bucks Fizz whipped the skirts off the two female singers, only to reveal even shorter skirts underneath. The gimmick helped Bucks Fizz - who had only formed to perform the song in Eurovision - win the contest for Great Britain and propel 'Making Your Mind Up' to number one across Europe, and four million sales worldwide (to date). Bucks Fizz would go on to have a number of other top ten hits in the UK - including a couple of No. 1 hits - but they never cracked the lucrative US market.
