The wedding and the tan
Remember my article about my daughter's wedding and my experience with spray tan? Now that all seems so far away and yet it's only a few months.
Some of you are curious to know how I got on with the spray tan. It was perfect, but that is my own opinion! The tan was even, no streaks, and I had a lovely natural looking golden glow. For me the spray tan was a lot better than my pasty white legs, or having to wear tan tights. I was delighted with the outcome. My thanks to Diane Jordan from Beyond Beauty here in Wexford, she made the process so simple for me.
I was very nervous about every aspect of having a spray tan. I did everything I was supposed to do, I exfoliated, moisturised and did the trial run. I would advise you if you are thinking of getting a spray tan to do a trial run a few weeks before the event.
Just to make sure that you like it, that it looks good on you, and to see how many days it takes to fade. For example I had the spray done two days before the wedding and on the wedding day it was a perfect glow. You might not like the colour, the feel of it, or the scent, so it's very wise to do a test run first.
Some people asked what products I used. The spray tan was Vita Liberta. The exfoliator and moisturiser that I used were a lovely Irish made range. They are made with stimulating seaweed extracts. I used the Seavite Illuminating and Firming Body Exfoliator. I also used Seavite Firming and Toning Body Lotion, this nourishes even the driest of skins and is suitable for sensitive skin. They're beautiful products.
After the wedding I kept my tan topped up with Organic Lavera Self-Tanning Lotion. I had also experimented with this before the wedding and liked the colour and natural looking glow it had on my skin.
So there you have it, my self-tanning wedding experiment concluded. I might never have another one in my life, but at least I know what to expect if I change my mind. And of course my daughter looked absolutely beautiful, and we all had a wonderful day. It was perfect.
