Wexford's Charlotte Street packed for street feast
Charlotte Street was packed to capacity as family and friends got together for Wexford's first Street Feast.
Chefs Eugene Rockett, from D'lush, Richie Trapp, from Greenacres, Paul Hynes, from La Cote, Peter Murphy, from the Yard and Paul Roche, from the Little Yard, prepared fabulous food for over 200 people and the party ran from 2.30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Music throughout the afternoon was courtesy of John Stewart and the wonderful Retired & Emotional Group of Wexford musicians.
Street Feast is a day of local lunches across Ireland on June 14 organised by people in the community.
'Our Street Feast was a great example of how business and community can come together to create something special. Businesses donated food and the local chefs gave of their time to support this family day out. A great success and something that we will most definitely be repeating,' said Madeleine Quirke, CEO of Wexford Chamber and a member of the Wexford Retail Group.
All monies received go to the Wexford Festive Lighting Fund.
