The annual Picnic in the Park, organised by the Love Redmond Park group, was a riot of colour and laughter.

A large crowd packed into the park, playing with friends and enjoying the many activities on offer as part of the event.

There were obstacle races with Menapians AC, novelty games and tug 'o war with Slam Entertainment and football skills with local GAA club, the Vols. The Rice children gave an awesome display of juggling. The Fairy and the Fiddler proved to be one of the star attractions as 'The Fairy' swirled hoops of fire while the amazing Dansky drove her into a Dervish-like frenzy with his exquisite fiddle playing. As always, Red Moon Theatre's Puppet Show was a big hit. There was plenty of ice-cream to be had, with just a little bit of wait for it!

There was musical entertainment with songwriter Kevin Tierney, Alice and James McIntyre, and Michael Murphy. Wexford Has Talent winner Rachel Grace was a big hit while Hayley Crosbie drew applause for her rendition of some old favourites. Blues, rock and R&B band, The Submersibles brought proceedings to a close.

Love Redmond Park spokesperson Senan O'Reilly expressed his delight at the event's success and thanked the local authority for their support.
