ADAMSTOWN

SCHOOL CALENDAR: Adamstown National School Parents Association are launching their School Calendar on Wednesday 8th December at the school from 8-9pm. Tea and light refreshments will be served and all are welcome. Calendars will be on sale for €8 each or two for €15, your support would be much appreciated.

Please note calendars will also be on sale in the school and Cullen's Shop, Adamstown during the month of December. All proceeds are going to School Funds. We would like to thank all our sponsors and everybody who helped with this project.

CARDS

The weekly "30" Card Game continues in the Community Centre on Friday 10th of December at 9pm. There is €220 in prize money on offer each night. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week.

Catering on Friday 10th will be:Breda Murphy, Deirdre Whelan, Marie Murphy and Bessie Fortune. Catering the following Friday 17th will be Kathleen Barden, Maura Barden and Siobhan Hynes. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

OPEN NIGHT

Colaiste Abbain will hold an Open Night in the College on Thursday 16th December at 7.30pm. All parents and students of 5th & 6th Class from Primary Schools are invited to attend. Students must be accompanied by an adult.

G.A.A. LUCKY DIP

St Abban's GAA Club is currently running a "Lucky Dip" Fundraising Draw the proceeds of which will go towards the running expenses of the Club. Buy a ticket from 1cent to €20 for a chance to win one of the following prizes:-1st prize - €2,000, 2nd prize - €1,000, 3rd prize - €500 followed by 6 prizes of €50 each. The draw will take place in Murphy's Bar, Newbawn on Saturday 18th December. Tickets are available from players and other club members. Please support your local club.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Actively Retired/Senior Citizens Christmas Party will be held in the Community Centre on Sunday 12th December at 5.30pm (Weather Permitting). If you have not yet received an invitation and are eligible to come, please contact Ann on 086 8375552 or Helen at 086 3454036 to say if you will be attending.

175TH ANNIVERSARY

The ICA are looking after the tea in the Community Centre after the 175th Anniversary Mass on Saturday 11th December and would be grateful for sandwiches and confectionery which may be left in between 2pm and 4pm.

SYMPATHY

Our sincere sympathy is extended to Alma, Danny and Stephen Gorman on the death of Alma's father Patrick Dempsey whose funeral mass took place recently in the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly, Waterford.

Our sympathy is also extended to Cait & Joe Bradley and family on the death of Cait's Aunt Mrs Alice Lacey, No 2 Ballytruckle Court, Waterford and whose funeral mass took place on Tuesday 30th November in Waterford.

The death occurred recently of Mrs Nelly Ryan (nee Martin) formerly Coolnagree and residing in Donabate, Co Dublin. She was aged 93 years. We extended our sympathy to all her family her brother Michael Mahon, Ball Kelly, The Crean and Larkin Family. May They Rest In Peace.

JUBILEE 1835 - 2010

Bishop Denis Brennan will preside at 7pm Mass in St Abban's Church on Saturday 11th December to celebrate the 175th Anniversary. Please come along. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Community Centre. Please note: In the event of the weather being bad, an announcement will be made on South East Radio letting people know if the event will go ahead.
