COLAISTE OPEN NIGHT
Colaiste Abbain will hold an Open Night in the College on Thursday 16th December at 7.30pm. All parents and students of 5th & 6th Class from Primary Schools are invited to attend. Students must be accompanied by an adult.
The weekly "30" Card Game continues in the Community Centre on Friday 17th of December at 9pm, having been called off for the past two weeks. There is €220 in prize money on offer each night. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week.
Catering on Friday 17th will be:Breda Murphy, Deirdre Whelan, Marie Murphy and Bessie Fortune. The next card game will be on Friday 31st December when Kathleen Barden, Maura Barden and Siobhan Hynes will do the catering. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.
Reminding everyone that following the cancellation of the Launch Night the calendar is now on sale in the school, children may bring in the money - €8 for one or €15 for two. Your support is appreciated. A sincere word of thanks to the parents who came along and cleared the paths and outside the National School so it could re-open.
The Christmas Party that was due to take place in the Community Centre on Sunday 12th December was cancelled due to weather conditions and it will now be held sometime in the new year. The Adamstown ICA would like to wish everyone a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.
We congratulate Fr John Walsh L.C. Mexico City on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in Rome by Pope John Paul II. He is currently visiting his home in Mary Street, New Ross and is a brother of Pat Walsh, Tomgarrow and a class mate of Fr Robert Nolan. He has ministered in Mexico for the past 30 years.
Our sincere sympathy to Nancy and Michael Lambert, Adamstown on the death of Nancy's brother Paddy Mullins, 20 Ard Na Greine, New Ross. His funeral mass was celebrated in the Parish Church, New Ross with burial afterwards in St Stephen's Cemetery. May He Rest In Peace.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK
Mass of the Anointing will take place in St Abbans Oratory on Wednesday 21st December at 3pm. Live crib in Taghmon Square from Saturday 18th December at 8pm.
A word of thanks to the dedicated work of those who spend a number of days clearing snow around the church, to the good neighbours who have been looking after the elderly and housebound. To all the drivers of food supply vans and lorries who managed to keep the parish's local shop supplied. Thanks to the Council Workers who supplied grit & salt and helped keep roads open, the postmen/women who despite bad conditions kept us in touch with family and friends to one and all thank you on behalf of Adamstown Parish.
