Last weekend was very busy in the underage section. Firstly the U12's played in the End of season Hurling Blitz where they beat Dufry Rovers and Clonard and were beaten by Bunclody. On Sunday there were two U8' teams out in the finals of the Homeswood football league, both teams played Barrow Ballymitty with mixed results. The older team won by 3 points and the younger team were narrowly beaten.
The teams were made up of the following. Sam & Liam Furlong, Tadhg McDonald, Cathal Doyle, Ben & Robert Wall, Aidan Whelan, Conor Gahan, Katie & Niamh English, Laurence Power, Dean Kehoe, Sinead Roche, Ellen & Roisin Gill, Isobel English, Daragh Furlong, Kyle Whelan, Lucca Ciccardi, Leah Furlong, Caoimhe Curtis and Philip Kearns.
A younger U7 team played Clongeen in an exciting match and had a great win. Thanks to Sean Furlong, Chris Gahan and Deirdre Whelan who were in charge. The U10's were in Pairc Charman against Kilmore in the Sansfield League, they lost their match by one point. They are still in the semi final of the Shield which is on this Sunday in Pairc Charman against St. Mary's at 11.45am. The U14's were also in Pairc Charman in the Quarter final of the football. Unfortunately they were beaten by a much stronger team from St. Mary's Maudlintown. Congratulation to Aidan O'Brien on his appointment as manager of Senior Football Wexford team.
