Fourteen young South African children lifted their wonderful voices in Clonard Church last Friday as they gave a special uplifting sparrow concert wchih was enjoyed by a large audience.
The children are all from Sparrow Schools in Johannesberg, and receive their education thanks to the Sparrow Educational Trust for disadvantaged children.
The children, who are in Wexford thanks to the hospitality of host families in the area, are on their second visit to Ireland having previously visited in 2008 during Wexford Festival.
A number of volunteers in Wexford raise cash for Sparrow Schools and all of the money raised in Wexford goes specifically towards the musical education in primary school for these children.
Last weekend their supporters got to see how the children have learned in school with a 13-song programme which they performed in Clonard Church. Supporters were mightily impressed with the progress being made.
