The weekly '30' card game continues in the Community Centre this Friday, August 25, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.
The next draw in the Adamstown lotto takes place this Friday, August 25, in the Community Centre for a jackpot of €13,000. Keep on buying the tickets to be in with a chance. All proceeds from lotto goes to Adamstown GAA, Soccer Club and Parish Committee. When this jackpot is won the next will start at €9,900
We are delighted to announce the enhancements to the existing childcare facilities at the Adamstown Community Centre. A new child care room is being added to the existing facility to extend much needed childcare sessions. This will be open on Monday, August 28, Adamstown Community Centre Committee.
Forge Vintage Club
The Forge Vintage Club will hold an all vehicle road run on Sunday, August 27, All vehicles new and old are welcome on the event. St Anthony's Mass and Novena Prayers will take a break for August and will resume in September.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will also take a break for the remainder of August and will resume in September.
Prayer group meet up every Sunday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and all welcome.
Wexford Local Development in partnership with Taghmon Action Group are running supervised study sessions for secondary school students.
Commencing on Monday, September 4, to October 27 inclusive (8 weeks). Student study facilities will be available from Monday to Thursday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. There will be a very small weekly charge to cover the cost of heat and light. This Saturday, August 26, sees the annual Barndance in Byrne's of Bree Grainstore. Tickets for the Barndance are available from Bree post office, Byrnes Shop, Keeley's Shop and from members of the Hall Committee. Entertainment starts at 10 a.m. with local girl Colleen Coughlan followed by Wrecking Ball and then DJ till late. Enjoy a good night out.
The postponed outing of Bree Active Retirement will take place on this Wednesday, August 23. The bus will leave Bree Community Centre at 10 a.m. They will visit Kilfane Gardens, the Arboretum for lunch and come back through a scenic route. They expect to return to Bree at approximately 6 p.m. Enquiries to 086 0747823.
The Full Irish
The Full Irish show, in association with Celtic Roots, is running in Bree Hall for only two more Tuesday nights August 22 and August 29.
The night's entertainment begins at 8.30 p.m. with a scone and light refreshments followed by an hour and a half show of music, song, dance and storytelling. Admission is €10 for adults with concessions for children and groups. Bookings are advised for these final evenings, contact 087 7535354.

Congratulations to Colm Parnell on winning the Wexford under-17 60x30 Handball Singles title. He beat opposition from Coolgreaney and St Joseph's and then Ballymitty in the final.
Parents are still strongly encouraged to get Garda vetted before the Youth club resumes so that we may continue to provide a meeting place for the young people of the parish and surrounding areas. Garda vetting application forms can be obtained by sending your email address to 087 2319219.
Our Lady's Island
The Bree Parish Pilgrimage to our Lady's Island will take place on Monday, August 28, Please assemble in the Island at 6.45 p.m. for procession around the Island. We will conclude with Mass at 8 p.m. This year our neighbouring Parishes of Davidstown and Oylegate will join with us on Monday, August 28, Each day during the pilgrimage season there will be Mass at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Sacrament of Confession will be available following Mass each evening.
Bree-Davidstown competitors were in great form at the National Community Games last weekend at National Sports Campus in Abbottstown, Dublin. Well done on a total five gold medals, seven silver medals and 11 fourth place medallions returning to the local area.
The boys under-16 Relay team of Daire Rochford, Leon Sinnott, Shane Kehoe, Eamonn Doyle and Jim Doyle won the gold medals. Harry Devereux won a silver medal in the boys under-10 100m as well as the under-15 Mixed Relay Team of Katie Whelan, Sophie Codd, Aoibhinn Crean, Shane Kehoe, Cillian Doyle and Seán Fitzpatrick.
The fourth Place medallion winners were the under-12 Relay team of Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Aleisha Furlong, Amelia Furlong, Ella Doyle and Sadhbh Crean. Galbally NS Sketch, 'Taxing the Farmer'were also winners of the fourth place medallions. Members of that team were Tadhg Doyle, Hazel Murphy, Casey Cullen, Seán Vaughan and Garry Laffan. The sketch was produced by Siobhán Doyle and written by Peter Byrne.
The local area was also represented by individual athletes under-8 PJ Breen 80m, under-10 Keira Wilson 100m, Charlie Kehoe 60mHurdles, Maura Doyle 200m, under-12 Abbie Doyle 100m, Gracie Kehoe 600m, under-14 Yvonne Hennebry Long Jump and under-16 Daire Rochford 100m and under-10 Mixed Relay Keira Wilson, Maura Doyle, Ava Kehoe, Jayden Kenny and Harry Devereux; under-12 boys Relay of Oscar Redmond, Oisin Rochford, Cathal Kehoe, Ryan Whelan and Tadhg Doyle; under-14 Relay Team of Jessica Blyth, Jessica Wickham, Lucy Kehoe, Donna Delahunty, Anna Jevens and Yvonne Hennebry. All of these athletes reached the semifinals of their event.
Sam Devereux competed in the under-8 art. Athletics managers for the weekend were Una Doyle, Margaret Cloke Rochford, Jane Codd, Paudie Codd and Lar Rochford. Congratulations to all involved.
All athletes and their coaches will have a well earned rest over the next few weeks.

Oulart National School will re-open, for all pupils, on Thursday, August 31. Classes for all pupils (The School Day) will start at 9 a.m. For pupils from first class to sixth class the school day will finish at 2.40 p.m. School for Senior Infants will finish at 1.40 p.m. daily. Up till Friday, September 8, the Junior Infants will go home at midday. From Monday, September 11, the school day for Junior Infants will finish at 1.40 p.m. (the same as for Senior Infants). Pupils, staff, parents/guardians are wished all the best as the new school year begins.
Hurling for Cancer
Well done to Oulart-The Ballagh's Martin Storey and Ursula Jacob, who took part in the Jim Bolger/Davy Russell 'Hurling for Cancer' in St Conleth's Park, Newbridge, Co. Kildare last Tuesday, August 15.
The event was an outstanding success with the huge attendance being entertained by the sports stars of the past and the present including Stephen Hunt, Peter Canavan, Lee Chin, Joe Deane, Niall Quinn, Charlie Carter and appearances by personalities such as Miriam O'Callaghan, Marty Morrissey and Paul McGrath as well as performance from the Castlecomer Male Voice Choir and Wexford's own Anthony Kearns.
Heritage Week Walk
In order to celebrate National Heritage Week, The 'Unyoke Walk' will take place on August 26 and will commence at the Trading Post at 10 a.m. and finish at Tulach a tSolais on Oulart Hill at 12.30 p.m. This moderate 11km walk, with expert guides, includes a 2km stretch of the original Dublin-Wexford Coach Road, into the medieval Lower Street of Oulart en route to the Battlefield of Oulart Hill.

Visit of Relics
Relics of Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, parents of St Therese of Lisieux, will visit Oulart on Saturday, September 23. Bishop Denis Brennan will launch the Novena to St Therese that evening at the 7.30 p.m. Mass. The Relics will stay overnight in Oulart when an all-night vigil will take place. Watch this space for further information closer to the date.

The under-16 Wexford team will play in the all-Ireland Final against Galway on Sunday, August 27. Best wishes to the team and especially to our club players Anais Curran, Siobhán Sinnott and Eimear O'Connor.
Bungee Jump - Some daring club players, including members of the senior team will be taking part in a bungee jump to raise funds for the camogie club. The event takes place on Sunday, August 27, on the Promenade in Enniscorthy. All of the senior team will have sponsorship cards and cards will also be available in the local shops and pubs. Your support, as always, would be really appreciated.
Vintage Club show
Pat the Chap Vintage Club Ballyedmond are holding their annual show on Sunday, September 3, in Ballyedmond. There will be tractor pulling, a vintage display and vintage working day, bric-a-brac, threshing etc. All proceeds to local charities. For more information please call 087 2672271.
