Ballymore/ Mayglass

GAA Lotto

The St. Fintan's GAA lotto now stands at €7,800 and tickets can be purchased in the local shops,club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Teresa Colfer shared in this prize with the following numbers drawn 3,11,15,19. Many thanks for your continued support.

Celebration/Raffle

The church fundraising committee are holding a parish celebration night on Saturday January 31st 2015 at 8.30pm in the Danby lodge Killinick.

The Bargy Vintage group are joining us in celebration with the Vintage Tractor raffle taking place at 10pm. The Bargy Vintage club members have raised a substantial amount of money for the church with their annual vintage tractor rallys every September. Raffle tickets for the Tractor will be available up to January 31st 2015 from Bargy vintage club members. Music starts at 9pm with tea/light refreshments at the interval. All are most welcome.

St.Fintans Club membership 2015 is now payable. Membership for non players will be €30 for the year. Members who pay up before 31st January will receive a FREE National Draw Ticket.(value €10). Club membership is open to all our supporters.

A club membership card is currently being worked on and it is hoped all paid members will have their own card as soon as possible. Membership can be paid to Linda Rankin or by contacting Club Secretary Sharon Pettit.

Congratulations to two members of the senior panel Kevin Day and Jim Rossitter both of whom played with the Wexford senior football team that defeated Carlow IT in Enniscorthy in an O'Byrne cup game.

National Club Draw

Tickets for the national club draw are currently on sale and are available from most of the players and club secretary Sharon Pettit at €10 each. T

he monies raised from the sale of these tickets remain with the club and your purchase entitles you to enter a draw for fabulous prizes including All Ireland final packages. Tickets must be returned to the club on January 21st. Best of luck in the draw.

Table Quiz

The Ballycogley Players will hold a fundraising table quiz in the Hideout Tomhaggard on Friday January 23rd at 8.30pm with the proceeds going to the Tomhaggard social centre. We once again call on your support.

The "players" use the centre for its rehearsals and are currently putting the finishing touches to the hilarious 3act comedy There Goes The Bride for the festival circuit in February. A number of productions will be held locally prior to going on the festival circuit so please watch this space for venues and dates.

Meals On Wheels

St. Mary's Day Care Centre can supply you with a three course dinner five days a week. Soup main course and dessert all prepared and delivered to your door between the hours of 12 noon and 1.30pm.

Get Well Soon

Get well soon wishes are sent to Frank Goldsmith of Killinick. Frank has spent some time in Wexford General Hospital and Waterford Regional hospital and he is wished a speedy recovery to full fitness and health by his family and friends.

All Blacks

The All Blacks u-11 team took on fellow unbeaten team Duncannon in the Wexford and district schoolboys soccer league div.1a in Ryans park on Saturday of last week.

This tight and hard fought encounter was decided by a superbly taken Kyle Rankin goal early in the second half. For the better part of the game defenders were on top until Evan Cullen squared the ball for Rankin to find the net.

Bereavement

The Ballycogley players sends deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Josephine (Rose )Warman Mulrankin who sadly died and whos remains were laid to rest in Tomhaggard cemetery during the past week. Rose was the aunt of Con Doyle of the "players"who together with his wife Mary cared for Rose in her latter years. May she rest in peace.

Open Day

Mayglass man William Codd opened up his horse training facilities during the recent past and was visited by those involved with horses from near and far. William has a very specialised unit in Mayglass and he is wished every success by his friends in racing.

Scouts

Ninty One beavers, cubs, scouts, leaders and parents enjoyed a wonderful night at Wexford Panto Robinson Crusoe last week. All sections resume scouting this week. Scouts and venture have PL training weekend on 23-25 in Carne, beavers have a co activity coming up soon.

Ladies Football

The St. Fintan's ladies will hold a presentation/ registration evening on Sunday February 15th from 5-7 in the Danby lodge.

This is open for all age groups to attend. There will be a medal presentation to both u14 and 16 whom both reached a county final and also to our ladies team for their shield medals. We invited all members and parents as it is an opportunity to get the girls together again before we kick start the new season with training starting very soon.

We will be taking registrations for the coming season also. Membership for the year is u10 €30, u12-minor €40, students €60 and adults €80. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Belated thanks to Danby Lodge and staff, Santa and helpers, the musicians, the raconteur and the singer for the brilliant entertainment on the occasion of The Kilmore Parish Seniors' Christmas party.

Kilmore United

Our Club are holding a meeting on Thursday 29th January at 8.15pm in Kilmore Community Hall & we would like our adult members & the parents/guardians of all our under-age players to attend. We have planning permission for Clubrooms & have been allocated €80,000 from the Sports Capital Fund to assist in building same. Any decision on this development will have long-term benefits for our community so before we commence construction we wish to convey our current position & take any suggestions on board.

Our Club lotto jackpot for €13,200 has been won & we congratulate Mary O'Brien, Mulrankin on her great win. Mary like many people in our community have been supporting our lotto over the years & we take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support which we hope will continue in the future

Table Quiz

There's a table quiz in the Hideout Pub on Friday 23rd January starting at 9pm in aid of Tomhaggard social centre. Table of 4 is €20. It promises to be a fun night out. Please support if you can.

Registration of returning players for Junior and Senior ladies football needs to be done ASAP in order for the junior team to be entered. The cut of for registration is Tuesday night 20th January and Rachel will be in the club house at 8.30pm. If you can't make Tuesday contact Rachel before hand to arrange something with her. We may not have numbers for everyone so please pass this message to anyone that we might have missed.

Kilmore Camogie club registration for 2015 will take place on Friday 6 th of Feb, 3 to 4,30 pm and 7 to 8 pm. Membership fees as follows underage E30, family E50 for 2 children or 3 for E 75 senior players (over 18) is €50.A player must pay their fee in full to be registered and covered by insurance. You cannot play matches or train if not registered.

Training has started back for many of teams seniors Wednesday and Saturday 7-8pm, under 16 &14 Friday 7-8pm, under 12 's.Wednesday 3-4.30pm and under 10's Friday 3-4.30pm. New players are welcome to join us.

sEA fOOD fESTIVAL

The 30TH Annual Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival will take place from July 9th to 12th, 2015 and we need you! If you are interested in co-ordinating or volunteering as part of this year's festival, then join us on Wednesday 21st January at 8pm in the Stella Maris Centre, Kilmore Quay.

90TH bIRTHDAY

Congratulations to Mrs Anna Barry Rackardstown Kilmore who celebrated her 90th birthday last weekend. Annas family celebrated this special occasion for this lovely lady with a party at her home last Saturday night where a great night was had by all who attended.

Active Retirement

The monthly meeting of Kilmore Active Retirement Association will be held on Thursday 22nd Jan at 7-30pm in the Kilmore GAA clubrooms.

Memberships are now due, so we would be pleased if intending members would facilitate us in this matter at the meeting. A programme of events will be distributed for the first half of 2015 during this meeting.

For people who may wish to join our Association, the only general rules are that you must be over 55 years of age and to be retired or semi retired, so if you fit into this category you will be welcome to join us at any of our activities.

Our weekly sports days at the Stella Maris Centre recommences after the holiday break on Wednesday 21st January at 2pm and following this at 3pm we will have a fun table quiz. The weekly Tenpin bowling at Leisuremax continues at 11am every Monday.

Sunny South East Strollers

The final week of the 4 week Programme is on Monday 26th January. Beginners welcome to come and join us.

We would like to invite anyone who would like to get out for a stroll/walk, who may have very low fitness levels but would like to get active and fit.

We meet at Rathangan Hall at 7.00pm, we do warm up exercises a 30-35 min stroll of the walkway (which has a section light), followed by warm down exercises. A cup of tea/coffee & most importantly a chat.

January Family Mass

Looking for a New Year's Resolution? Why not go to the special family mass in a special new temporary location on Sunday, 25th January, in Duncormick Church at 11 a.m. We look forward to seeing you there.

Church Painting

The painting of Rathangan Church will begin on Wednesday January 21st and will be ongoing for approximately 6-8 weeks. The church will remain closed to the public during this time. All Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses will be held in Duncormick Church from Saturday January 24th until further notice. Emergency church services e.g Funerals etc. will be held in Cleariestown, Duncormick or Carrig On Bannow Churches. Parishioners full co-operation would be appreciated during this time of renovation. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

trANNE'Sformation

Operation trANNE'Sformation Programme got off to a flying start during the week with over 100 people joining up, a fantastic turnout, well done for making the personal commitment to join Operation trANNE'Sformation.

Anyone who would still like to join up can start on either Wednesday or Thursday night. Presentation Night

St Anne's had 3 players on Wexford All Ireland winning team this year and their All-Ireland presentation night will be held in the Ferrycarrig on 23rd January. Tickets are €30.00 if you wish to attend. There will be a 3 course meal and The Bottle Brothers will provide the music on the night. Please support your Club Members.

Active Retirement

Piercestown/Murrintown Active Retirement Association meets on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. It provides activities during those hours as well as facilitating day trips, meals out, etc. You don't have to be from the Piercestown/Murrintown area. All are most welcome from the Cleariestown and Rathangan area. A bus service is provided to collect you from and return you to your home.
