Message in a Bottle
"Message in a bottle" is a service to the local community members that has the potential to be a "Life Saver." The Text Alert service is promoting this brilliant idea whereby a piece of paper (Personal Information Form- PIF) containing relevant medical information is stored in a special green and white plastic bottle, in the householder's fridge.
If an emergency arises and the emergency services are called to the house they are able to locate the special bottle in the fridge and are able to make quick and accurate decisions on the spot. The Bottle is taken to the hospital with the patient and the information in the bottle informs the emergency ward team as to the patient's medical history and current medications etc.
Anyone seeking further information on the "Message in a Bottle" scheme should contact the Oulart Text Alert officers.
