The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 6th March at 9pm. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week. Catering on Fri 13th March will be: Bernie Hickey, Breda Cummins, Evelyn O'Gorman & Ann O'Gorman. Catering on 20th will be Bridget O'Gorman, Ann Stafford, Kay Whelan & Agnes Whelan. Proceeds going to Parish Funds. Alternatively call to the school office to collect one. Enrolments must be returned to the school by the end of March.

Community Games

The Adamstown Community Games Committee will hold a 'Traditional Irish Night' in Cullen's Lounge on Sunday 15th March 2015. Come along and enjoy a night of 'craic agus ceol'. Entertainment on the night will include traditional Irish music, storytelling and Irish dancing. Tickets are now on sale.

Concert in St. Abbans

The Parish Committee are currently organizing a Concert which will take place in St. Abban's Church on Sunday 29th March at 7.30pm. The religious themed show will have a variety of performers, choirs, individuals, musicians both children and adults. Admission is €10 Adults, Children Free. Door prizes and all proceeds going to Parish funds. Further details in the coming weeks. Athletic Club

The Sportshall Athletics County Final for primary school athletes took place on Sunday 1st March in the Astro Active, Enniscorthy. Two teams representing Adamstown N.S. came first and qualified for the National Finals and will now represent Wexford in Athlone on March 23rd in Athlone International Arena.

The 3rd/4th class girls team made up of Ciara Mooney, Isobel English, Grainne English, Niamh English, Katie English, Abbie Carthy Walsh, Karolina Jazaer, Caragh McDonald, Clodagh Crean and Molly Cloney and also the 5th/6th class boys team made up of Conor Whelan, Tomas Jackman, Graham O'Reilly, Stevie O'Dwyer, Leon Sinnott, Cormac Byrne, Tadgh McDonald, Craig Wall, Ben Wall and Robert Wall.

The 3rd/4th class boys team of Daniel O'Gorman, Tomas Hynes, Donny McDonald, Darragh Furlong, Laurence Power, Oscar MacGabhann, Ross English and Watt Crean were narrowly defeated by two points into 2nd place. The 5th/6th class girls team came 3rd and their team was Sarah O'Gorman, Leah Carthy Walsh, Ella English, Rachel Power, Aoibhinn Crean, Ellie Cloney and Leah Furlong. Well done to all who participated in this event and especially those who will go on to represent their county in Athlone.

Congratulations to Annalise Crean, Marie Mooney, Joe Mooney and John Wall on receiving their County medals at the Athletics Wexford awards night on Friday 27th February 2015.


Tickets for our Annual Lourdes Draw are being distributed throughout the Parish in the coming days. Households may purchase up to 4 tickets, and hopefully 3 parishioners will get the chance to go to Lourdes in May from 17th - 22nd with your support. Tickets cost €5. And draw is confined to Adamstown Parish.

Sponsored Walk

The Adamstown Athletic Club's Annual Sponsored Walk takes place on Sunday March 29th at 11:30am. The walk will start at Dolly's then up Carrigbyrne Hill and back to Dolly's for tea. Please support.


Fashion Show/Bingo

A Fashion Show, in aid of Bree Community Centre, will be held in the Riverside Park Hotel on Tuesday, March 24th at 8.15pm. Tickets are on sale at Hotel Reception, Bree Shop or from any committee member. A Monster Bingo (€5000 in prizes) will be held in Bree Community Centre on Easter Sunday Afternoon, April 5th at 3pm. All proceeds go to the Bree Community Centre Development Fund.

Bree ICA

The monthly meeting of Bree ICA will take place this Tuesday March 10th at 8pm in the Community Centre meeting room. The competition is 5 daffodils and we will have someone speaking about gardening. New members more than welcome. The AGM takes place on April 14th.

Bree Macra

Well done to the Bree Macra Men's Soccer team who represented the club and county at the NDC National Finals recently. The team played well but did not progress past the group stages. Players involved were Cian Rodgers, Conor Byrne, James Parle, Mark Waters, John Healy, Peter Doyle and Niall Jones. Next on the cards for the club are the volleyball, National Talent and personality competition county rounds. Handball News

Congratulations and the best of luck to Michael Rossiter who will play in the All Ireland Emerald Masters final after overcoming Brian Havern from Co Down in the semi final. Two more Leinster titles have been secured for Ballyhogue Handball Club. Anthony Butler won the U16 Leinster title and Colm Parnell won the U15 title. Good luck to both of them in the All Ireland semi finals this weekend.

Bree AC

Congratulations to the six athletes who competed in the Leinster Indoor Championships last weekend. Glynn Fianna Fail

Gymstars also caters for our younger kids-Tumble Tots continues every Tuesday from 12.45 to 1.45pm and also on Saturdays from 3.15-4.15pm. This is a structured class with play time plus coach instructed activities.

Table Quiz Fundraiser

A table quiz in aid of Dynamic Kick-Boxing Academy will be held in Wexford Golf Club at 8pm on Friday 13th March.

Adults and teens only please. Funds raised will go directly to the Club/Competition Fund and the forth-coming European Championships Qualifiers. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the very best of luck to all club members and especially the Glynn/Barntown participants, competing in the "Irish Open" on 7th and 8th March.

Irish Dancing

Irish dancing classes every Monday evening in Glynn community centre at 6.30pm. Classes will suit both boys and girls aged 4 and upwards.

Our Senior girls played their first League game v Ferns on Sunday morning last and came away with a win on a scoreline of 1-2 to 0-3. Well done ladies!

Congratulations to Clodagh Jackman who lined out at wing forward for the Wexford U.16 camogie team last Saturday in their win over Dublin 2-7 to 1-4.

The camogie club Annual Easter Raffle will take place in Declan's on Thursday April 2nd at 9pm and tickets will be distributed this week. We look forward to the usual support for this event.

GAA club news

Well done to our Intermediate Footballers who defeated St Mary's Maudlintown 2-11th 0-3 on Saturday last in the ACFL.

Club members flocked to Wexford Park on Sunday to support our clubmen Mark Fanning (hurling) and Rob Tierney and Michael O Regan (football) as they represented Wexford in the double header v Limerick.

Coiste Na Nog

Well done to our Minor footballers who had a comfortable Championship win over Rathgarogue/Cushinstown on Sunday morning last. Club minors Rowan White and David Clarke represented Wexford on Saturday in the Minor Hurling Championship win over Dublin 1-17 to 0-12.

On Saturday last our U.12 boys welcomed a team from Mungret /St Paul's in Limerick for challenge games in both hurling and football and both clubs enjoyed their afternoon of sport.
