Fantastic results from Leinster Indoors! In the U14 shot Gergely Pap placed 1st with a throw of 10.99. Maeve Hayes finished the U14 high jump in 3rd place. Sammy Delaney competed in the U16 Long jump and unluckily finished 4th missing out on 3rd by 1cm. Great results by our young athletes well done!
Elsewhere Emma Ownens competed in the Winter Springs throws competition in Dunboyne recently. Emma returned to hammer throwing for the first time in a few years, whilst also taking part in the discus. Emma threw well in both events and finished 3rd in the Discus! Well done! Shane Connick was also in action recently at the IUAA cross country. Shane has been suffering with a persistent knee injury recently so it was great to see him competing again. Shane ran well for the WIT team and now looks forward to the IUAA track and field in April.

Clongeen Ladies Footballers took on Kilanerin in Fr. Wheeler Park on Sunday evening last in Division 2 of the Adult League. This first competitive game of the year was played at a very high tempo. Clongeen were short some regulars but played a good brand of football none the less. The first half was shaded by the Geeners and they were unlucky to go in at the interval on level terms at 4 points each.
They were the better team in the second half until two goals against the run of play and a point, which was about four feet wide, turned the game on its head. They tried valiantly to claw their way back, but in fairness to Kilanerin when they got their tails up, they were determined to hang on.
The final score was, Kilanerin 2-8, Clongeen 0-6.
The Clongeen team was, Niamh Waters, Stephanie Foxe, Marcia Sinnott, Katie Whelan, Sarah Murphy, Laura Redmond, Ciara Mythen, Emer Cahill, Trina Sinnott, Claire Whelan, Chloe Foxe, Hazel Redmond, Ellie Byrne, Geraldine Curtis (0-5) and Aoife O'Grady Fortune. The Substitutions made were, Leanne O'Grady for Aoife O'Grady Fortune and Aoife O'Grady Fortune for Ellie Byrne.
Geraldine Curtis had a great game between the posts for the Wexford Intermediate Camogie team when they defeated Laois by 1-9 to 0-9 in St Patricks' Park Enniscorthy on Sunday afternoon. A brilliant save in the dying seconds secured the points for Wexford in what was a very good and exciting game of camogie.
