Fun Family Quiz

OLI / St. Fintan's Coiste U14's and St. Fintans Ladies U14's are holding a Fun Family Table Quiz on Sunday 22nd March in Our Lady's Island Community Centre at 3pm. Tables of 4 cost €20, both adults and children welcome. Refreshments served. All money raised will go towards Feile Peile 2015. All support welcome.

G.A.A. News

As there was no winner of last week's jackpot, Our Lady's Island G.A.A lotto now stands at €,200. Tickets may be purchased at local shops and from club members at a cost of €1.50. Last week's numbers were 14, 15, 21 and 25. Our Lady's Island GAA Club would like to thank you all for your continued support.

Our Minor Footballers played Kilross Gaels on Sunday morning in Tagoat and despite a brave comeback in the second half, finally went down lost by 4 points. Our Adult hurlers recorded a strong victory over Rathnure in Division 3 Round 1 of the All County League on Sunday afternoon finishing comfortable winners against a 14 man Rathnure.

"Tour de Carne"

Our Lady's Island GAA Club are holding "Tour de Carne", an 8k family Walk / Run / Cycle on Sunday April 12th. Registration on the day from 11:30 with the event starting from Our Lady's Island Community Centre at 1p.m.. Adults €10 Children €5 with refreshments served afterwards

Operation Transformation

Our weekly meeting moves to Wednesday evening 18th March for this week only. Weigh in from 6.30-7.30pm followed by motivation talk and exercise class! Still magnificent results at the scales each week and the walking programme continues daily at 10am and 7pm. Details for a walk to mark the end of the 10 week programme to follow!

Reeling in the Years

We need your help. Our lady's Island GAA club is currently gathering newspaper cuttings, old photos, jerseys, medals, footballs, old hurls memorabilia etc which will be put on display as part of the Club's Celebration "Reeling in the Years" taking place in Meylers of Tacumshane on Saturday, 28th March.

We are asking anyone that may have items important to the history of our club to allow us to borrow them for use at the event. It will also be an occasion for old friends to get together and reminisce. So if you have anything that you would like to be put on display then please contact one of the organising committee-Tina Maloney, Kevin Kehoe, Julie Pettit, Padraig Power, Stephen Kehoe or David Codd. I.C.A. guild

We had a good attendance of members at our March meeting held recently. President Dee Devereux externded get well wishes to all who are sick at present. Sympathy was extended to Reenie Keegan on the sudden passing of her sister, Elizabeth Carolan. Plans were put in place for the Community Coffee Morning on Thursday, 26th March and also for Daffodil Day on Friday, 27th March when daffodils will be sold in O'Doherty's Londis.

Peg Ellard won the competition and Hannie won the raffle. Francesca treated us to a fun Question Time which was much enjoyed by all followed by the usual cuppa and chat. The next meeting will be on Monday, 13th April and the competition will be for the nicest Posie of Flowers.

Ladies Night

We would like to thank everyone who made Ladies Night at the Danby Lodge such a success last Thursday, the Danby Hotel staff and management, staff and volunteers from St Marys Day Care Centre, stall holders and treatment providers and especially all those who turned up on the night. It was a fabulous night and everyone indulged in a little pampering and shopping. We would also like to send our gratitude to all the businesses and individuals that donated prizes for our door prizes and raffle, your support is truly appreciated.
