Gaa Notes
The Club are organising a first aid and defibrillator training course in April. One mentor from each underage and adult team are expected to attend. For more details please contact Theresa Larrissy.
Membership for 2015 are now due. Adult players: €100- students and non playing members: €50. All mentors (adult and underage) memberships are €50. All memberships must be paid in full by 31st March.
Deepest Sympathy
Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Murphy family Ballykelly on the death of their mother Mrs Katie Murphy who passed away last week . May she rest in peace.
Vintage Club
The next Over the Water vintage club road run will take place on Sunday 12th April. It is in aid of Ballymurn Church funds.

Ladies Football
A reminder to all Crossabeg/Ballymurn Ladies football club members that the football season has started and the training times for teams are as follows:-U12's on Wednesday's from 6.30-7.30 p.m. in Ballymurn; U14's on Monday's and Wednesday's from 6.30-7.30 p.m. in Ballymurn; U16's on Wednesday's from 7.30-8.30 p.m. in Ballymurn; adults on Wednesday's from 7.30-8.30 p.m. and Saturday's from 6.30-7.30 p.m in Ballymurn.
These are the times generally but sometimes they will change and managers will inform their teams if this arises. All new members are welcome, either call to the field on training evenings or contact club secretary Ann Doyle.
Football fixtures
These are the fixtures for teams from Crossabeg/Ballymurn Ladies club in action this week. On Thursday, April 9 the U16's are playing Ballyhogue in Ballymurn at 7 p.m and the U12 A team are playing St Martins in Piercestown at 6.30 p.m. On Saturday, April 11 the U12 B team are away to Clongeen, time to be confirmed.
Textile Collection
The Parents Association of Crossabeg national school would appreciate clothes, footwear, bags and belts for their Textile fundraiser in aid of the school which takes place on April 20. Items can be left in to the school anytime on Friday, April 17 during school hours or from 9 a.m to 9.30 a.m on Monday, April 20.

Clean up Month
April has been once again designated Spring Clean month. Crossabeg parishioners play their part in keeping the roads around the village and surrounding townlands clear of rubbish and unsightly objects. Help is always needed so if you can spare an hour or two please assemble at Kyle Forge on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. where you will be provided with gloves, picks, sacks etc. The second clean up session will take place on Saturday, April 18. Community Games
The local Community Games Area had three teams in action last week in the county finals of the Under 14 Table Quiz competition. The standard of answering was very good on the night with the Piercestown/Murrintown team taking an early lead from round one and holding off all others to claim the county title. All local teams fared very well but finished outside of the medal placings.
The teams who competed were as follows:- Team 1: Brannach Kinsella, Will Sidney, Conor Bernard, Blathnaid Sinnott. Team 2: Euan Doyle-MacLaughin, Sadhbh Quinn, Mary Moran, Aoife Murphy. Team 3: Matthew Molloy, Ciaran Ryan, Alannah McDonald, Saoirse McCormack.
Congratulations to Sean and Niall Reck, Ballymacshoneen, Crossabeg, both of whom won gold medals in their respective races at the county swimming finals held in Enniscorthy last week. Well done also to Katie Feeney, Curracloe, who participated in the Solo Music section of the cultural activities held in Raheen hall on Wednesday night of last week.

Fashion show
As you are aware the spectacular Fashion show takes place in the Riverside Park Hotel on Thursday 7th May. The tickets are in circulation in the community at the moment so if you would like any tickets please contact any of the P.A. or call or text Edel Kelly on 086 3131711, Ciaran Kinsella 086 6097190, Sinead Carthy 087 7538041.
To date we have managed to get some great sponsorship from local businesses We would ask all parents to do their best to sell as many tickets as possible, this is the only fundraiser we will have this year and all monies raised will go towards providing interactive white boards for the students.
Please return the money and any unsold tickets to the school when it reopens on Monday week 13th April, as we are anxious to sell all the tickets for this fun filled evening in May. More information to follow.
social Dancing
Sunday 12th April is the next night of Social Dancing in Oylegate Community Centre. Music on the night is by Catherine and Images, who make a welcome return. As usual dancing is from 9.30p.m. Admission is €8 with the welcome tasty refreshments served. Join us for a lovely social event.

Senior Parishioners
This year the party will take place in the Old School centre on Sunday 19th April from 1.30 to 5.00pm. Invitations will be distributed around over the weekend, or can be got from Brenden Doyle on 0872861221 a great afternoon is planned again this year with lunch being served at 1.30 followed by music and entertainment.

Ladies Football
Well done to the Shels U14's who competed in the Wexford Feile in Glynn on Easter Monday and also to the Division 1 adult team who played Crossabeg/Ballymurn on Monday evening. Good luck to the Division 2 adult team who are playing Kilanerin this evening, Tuesday at 6.30 p.m. and also to the U16 and U12 teams, both of whom will play Kilmore teams on Thursday and Friday respectively.
Well done to the club members who played with county teams at the weekend; Leanne Corriagn and Enya Byrne with the minors, Sadbh McCarthy, Sarah Harding Kenny, Siobhan Doolan and Megan Scallan with the U16's and Ailis Neville for the U14's.
Thank you to all the team managers and mentors who attended the club Code of Ethics night last week with Child Officer Brenda Fox. The registration night will be held in Hollymount on April 16. This is a great chance for members and parents to come along and meet the mentors and players. All new members are welcome.
Exercise classes
Forever Fit-Wexford. Hi-energy dance fit classes take place in Oulart every Fridays at 10 a.m. and 'Forever Active for over 60's' every Friday at 11.30 a.m. Classes now take place in Enniscorthy. In the Astro Active club on Thursdays. Dance fit classes at 7 p.m and Forever Active classes for over 60's at 8 p.m. All are welcome. Please join in any time. Call Amanda Burke on 087-9713339.
Music lessons
Music lessons will resume on Tuesday, April 7 at the normal times at the Shelmalier Complex. Lessons in tin whistle, flute, guitar, bodhran, singing, banjo, mandolin, button accordion, fiddle, melodica and keyboard. All levels welcome. Adult lessons also available. All lessons cost €7 per session.

Cards
The overall winners of the partners 45 Easter Card final in Hotel Curracloe were Henning Fikentscher and Sim Donohoe, Runners-up were Angela Griffith & Eamon Leacy, Murt Kelly and Damien (Shots) Doyle, Charles Kavanagh and Bob Ryan. Winners of the "B" final were Olly Hearne and Kathleen Lacey, Runners-up were Tracey Hall and Mary J Whelan, Kathleen Murphy and Kenneth Hearne.
The hotel would like to thank all their patrons and wish them a happy Easter. Cards will recommence in October.
Tea Party
Shelmalier Ladies Football club will hold an American Tea Party on April 25 as a fundraiser for the club. This promises to be a fun evening. A note also to remind members to keep an eye out over the May bank holiday weekend for the car wash fundraiser that will be set up in Castlebridge.

Table Quiz
A reminder that a Table Quiz will be held at Freddie's of Screen on Friday, April 10. The organisers are hoping that there will be a good turnout on the night, to help set the groundwork for the eventual Street Party on Saturday, June 27 and to make it a day to remember.

CAMOGIE NEWS
Shelmalier Coiste na nOg and St. Ibar's/Shelmalier camogie club are holding a three-day hurling and camogie camp over Easter.It is for the Under-6 to Under-12 age groups, with boys and girls welcome. The cost is €20 per child or €50 for three siblings, and it will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, April 7 to 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hollymount. Hard luck to the Under-18s who went down to Craanford by 2-8 to 3-2 in their second game in the league-championship in Hollymount on Tuesday. Our Under-14 team played Blackwater in a challenge at home on Monday and will travel to our near neighbours for another match on Wednesday, April 8, at 6.30 p.m.
Best wishes to our Under-12 squad whose first cluster blitz is on Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m. in Piercestown, and to the Under-16s who are away to Rathnure on Monday, April 13, at 6.30 p.m.
A child protection in sport awareness workshop was held on Wednesday in Hollymount. The club was represented by Emma Hearne (Under-10), Sheila Roche (Under-10), Stanley O'Leary (Under-10), Andy O'Connor (Under-12), Trish Fielding (Under-14) and Mag Murphy (Under-14). It was a very informative meeting, covering the under-age code of behaviour and child protection issues. Thanks to course tutor Eddie Mahon.
