The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €3,600 and tickets can be purchased in the local shops,club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. 19 scouts and venturers plus leaders took part in a most enjoyable fun camp in Ballycogley last weekend on land of Adrian & Carmel Tennant. The weather was fantastic and the activities undertaken were wide and varied. Everyone went home happy but exhausted.
Beavers and Cubs go on their annual camp to Carne next weekend of June 5th-7th with cubs camping two nights and beavers one which should be fun. Hoping the weather stays fine.
Scouts are busy preparing for annual scoutcraft competititon in Artramont from June 19th-21st.
There are a wide variety of entertaining activities and fundraising events coming up over the next few months in aid of Tomhaggard Social Centre, including: Social Dancing June 25th with Adrian Ryan, 30k Fun Cycle July 5th, Irish Night July 20th, Garden Party August 15th, 5k Family Fun Run August 22nd, Heritage Week Talk August 28th. A new women's group is starting up in Tomhaggard Social Centre on Mon 8 June 10am-12. Sharing ideas, crafts, hobbies etc or just enjoying a cup of tea and chat, while making new friends and learning new skills.

The St Fintans golfing society will hold its next outing on Saturday June 20th at Enniscorthy golf club with a first tee off time of 10.30am.
The Ballycogley Players held a very enjoyable end of season "night out"in Greeacres Lounge, Tenacre during the recent past.
The highlight of the night was once again the poem by Terence O'Byrne capturing the ups and downs of a very busy season. It contained mostly pieces we thought had been forgotten about and worse still items we thought had not been noticed.
Group member Mary Doyle was celebrating a special birthday and she received a shock when Breda Hayes produced a birthday cake.
The group would like to sincerely thank Noel and Noeleen of Greenacres who catered for our every need. With the curtain having been drawn on its 40th anniversary and yet another very enjoyable and successful season the group must now look forward to the one act season in the Autumn. A special word of thanks to our sponsors and loyal supporters.
The group received good news during the past week with a request from the Aras to send four members to meet with President Michael D Higgins on Tuesday June 30th. The lucky four drawn from the "hat" were Rachel Murphy,Trish Boyce,Con Doyle,Terence O Byrne and we are sure that they will do the group proud.
Congratulations to St Fintans stalwart John William Rowe, Hilltown, Killinick who married Nicola Kehoe, daughter of Barry Kehoe of Kehoe and Associates, Commerical Quay, Wexford during the recent past. We wish them both many years of good health and happiness together.
Congratulations to Ber (Kelly)Cullen who held a very successful fundraising coffee morning and cake sale at her home in Killinick during the recent past. The proceeds from the morning are going towards the hosting of two teams for the upcoming Feile competition which will take place on the weekend of June 26th/28th.
The girls club will host a team from Cavan and will play a number of games in Ballymore while the boys are hosting a team from Kerry and will play their first game in Grantstown and play their home games in Our Ladys Island.

The Our Ladys Island/St Fintans underage hurling club has been busy on the playing field of late with Bufferys Alley beating the u-14 team on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-2 in round 4 of the championship.
The Bargy vintage club will hold a fundraising BBQ supporting local charities on Saturday June 27th at Ye Olde Coopers Inn Killinick from 6pm till late. Food will be served from 6.30pm-9.30pm and the music will be provided by Point Blank and Tom Murphy while admission is just €5. The evening will also Tug O War and a raffle.
The club held its AGM during the recent past with Fr Murty Byrne PP elected as president and the outgoing committee was returned enblock. Chairman Willie Day,Secretary Eileen Hayes and Treasurer John Rowe.
A pilgrimage to the Holylands and Marion pilgrimages will take place between October 23rd and 31st.

The Killinick and District Garden Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month in Ye Olde Coopers Inn, from 7.30pm. On Tues.2nd St Fintans' ladies underage had two teams in action.Away to St Annes were our U10 girls.Eve Rowe and Megan Hendrick were captains on the evening. After a hard fought and sporting game , the girls came home with a good win. Our U14 girls had a home fixture against Davidstown.After a tough game the team emerged victorius with a score of 8-6 to 7-6.This team remains undefeated in their league.
Ceili And Set Dancing

A tour by Clonroche Historical Society will take place on Saturday, June 13th, leaving Clonroche at 9.15am. It will go to Loftus Hall, Clonmines, Bannow Bay (where the Normans landed) and other places in the parish of Carrig-on-Bannow. Congratulations to our U12 girls who played Castletown in the Co. Camogie Championship in Coolgraney on Saturday 30th May and won on a score line of nine goals and three points to no score. The next game in the U12 Championship is against Buffers Alley this Friday 12th June in Grantstown at 6.30. Please support the girls.

Bannow Folk and Traditional Society are holding a golf classic as a fundraiser for the Phil Murphy weekend at the Abbey Par 3 Fethard on Sea on Saturday June 20th. Tee Times 9-11am and 1pm-3pm two man teams €20 per team.
Congratulations to Shane Murphy who was crowned Leinster Men's Challenger Wall Ball (formerly 1 Wall) Champion at the weekend in Durrow, Co Laois. He did it the hard way beating fellow clubman, and last year's Under 14 Leinster Wall Ball champion Willie Murray Byrne in the semi final. He then went on to beat Geoffrey Atkinson from Carlow in the final. Well done Shane.
Our under-age presentation will take place in our grounds from 2pm on Sunday 14th June. All our u-8's & u-10's will get presented with certificates while our promoted teams the u-12 & u-14 chaps will get presented with their league runner-up medals. There will be player of the year awards from u-12s upwards along with some food, sponge throwing, mini blitz & the mandatory bouncy castle.
Wexford Football Academy will be holding a summer camp in our grounds for ages 6-14 from 13th-17th July. The is usually a great success & great value at cost of €60 for the which includes a training kit, for more information or to register contact Theresa on 087-4169923.
Just To Say Thank You! This years Kilmore Field Day was a tremendous success, which was undoubtedly enhanced by the weather!
The Kilmore Parent Association want to thank all parents & families of our school, local businesses and also our wider Community, who very generously donated cakes, plants, books, bric-a-brac and so many bottles! We thank those who turned up to enjoy the day and to those who helped make it run so smoothly.
Our aim is to earn funds to enhance the experience of our children in the school, but also to create a wonderful community day that brings us together. Mission accomplished! Thank you all.

Fun Bike Ride
The RNLI Fun Bike Ride is on Sunday 14th June There are 2 routes to choose from: 36k or 20k. Cost is €10 per person. Registration 10.30am to set off at 11am at the Station.
Both routes leave from the Station heading to Kilmore Village then the 20k will head to Bridgetown, Baldwinstown, Ballyteigue and back to the station. The 36k will head on to Ballycogley from Kilmore then on towards town turning left at Lightwater for Piercestown then left again at the roundabout in Rathaspeck heading for Murrintown, and through Newcastle and turning left for Baldwinstown town to Ballyteigue and back to the station.
Refreshments will be served at the station. There will be water stops along the way on the 20k route. Sponorship cards available on request.
Joe Bulmer chairman of Kilmore Active Retirement Association presided at the Monthly meeting of the Association on Thursday 4th in the GAA Clubrooms with an excellent attendance of members. The main points from the meeting were as follows: Indoor bowling will be held on Thursday 11th in the Stella Maris from 7 to 9pm. Friendly games are to be arranged with some of the teams involved in the indoor bowls league in the coming weeks.
The second day trip of the year will be to the Wax museum and Dublin castle on 15th July. A golf day is to be arranged at the par three course in Rathaspeck in the near future for members who are interested in the sport.
There are still a couple of seats available for the holiday to Galway on the first week of September, for information contact Breda at 086-3258386. The balance of the fee for the holiday should be paid before 1st August.
Tenpin Bowling continues at Leisuremax every Monday at 11am, the fee has been increased by €1 to €6 from Monday 8th June, still great value for seniors. Wellness day is on in Whites hotel on Wednesday 17th June from 10-30 to 4.30 and is well worth a visit according to people who have attended previous events.
The chairman in concluding the meeting wished Toddy and Pam the best of luck on their big day on the 18th. He also expressed sympathy on behalf of all members to Dwight Moore on the recent death of his mother.
Next meeting after the summer break will be on 10th September.
The Ballet Academy's end of year show in the Opera House on 20th June. The show is called "Movie Magic" and is on at 4pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost €15 adults/ €10 children. Piercestown students will be taking part in the 4pm show.
Piercestown N.S. will host the annual art exhibition on Tuesday 9th June at 7pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to enjoy their works of art from over the course of the year. The exhibition will be launched by local artist Helen Gaynor. The Parents' Association will be providing refreshments. All are welcome.
An Introduction Morning for New Junior Infants starting in September 2015 will take place on 10th June 10th from 9.30am-12noon. This will be a morning of fun, dance, song and activity where the children will get to meet their new teacher and principal and get familiar with their new surroundings.
The Parents' Association will host a coffee morning for parents of the new arrivals in the hall. We look forward to meeting the new boys and girls! New enrolments still being accepted.
Piercestown/Murrintown ARA Club are heading West on 29th August to Breaffy House Resort Hotels, Castlebar, Co Mayo for a 3 night DBB stay at this wonderful hotel. Price per person sharing is €250. SRS applies.

Health and Wellbeing
The Marigold Health and Wellbeing Day is on 17th June at Whites Hotel, with Health checks, measuring service and lots more something for everyone. This is a free event to the public all welcome.

" A Summer Evening Song" concert in aid of UCD volunters to benefit disadvantaged communities is being held in Bride Street Church on June 11th at 8pm.
