St Paul's A.C.

Maeve Hayes was competing at the All Ireland B championships recently and came home with two medals, finishing second in both the Long Jump and High Jump. These great results round off a great year for the young athlete, with plenty of potential for the future. Well done Maeve!

Elsewhere our National League athletes were in action once again. Emma Owens finished 2nd with a throw of over 36m to help the Wexford Women earn a place in the League Final. Tara Connick was in fine form again throwing another PB in the discus, with a throw very close to 26m whilst guesting for the Menapians women in Athlone. Shane Connick ran a PB in his first 1500m race this season. Shane also threw the discus and shot earning points for the Wexford Mens Team.

Kieran Murphy was also competing for that team, finishing 3rd in Hammer and 2nd in the 56lb Weight for Distance, only 1cm off 1st. At the time of writing the Mens team await results as to whether they have qualified. We hope they have and if so wish the lads and Emma the best of luck this Sunday in the League Final!

Our 5 mile Road Race takes place 5th September at 5pm, enter online at (link to entry page on our Facebook). If you need a bit of a practice for the race why not run the 6km fun run at the Leo Carthy Weekend in Our Lady's Island. The run takes place Sunday 2nd August at 1.30pm, everyone welcome!
