Following a meeting of the Harvest Festival Committee on Wednesday 5th Aug it was unanimously decided to postpone the Festival Day to Sunday 20th September. Parents/Guardians please be advised that concern has been raised regarding Road Safety on the Carrigmannon Road (from GAA grounds to the new shop). There are a few dangerous bends in that particular stretch of road and children have been walking 3 and 4 abreast, making conditions very unsafe for both the children walking and any drivers using the road. Let's make the road safe for all users this summer.

Our U10 Blue and Green camogie teams played away to St Mary's Rosslare on Tuesday. Both teams played great games with St Mary's coming out on top.

Well done to our U12 Green camogie team who had an impressive win over Rathnure on Friday evening.

Our U16 camogie girls had a superb win in their Co. semi final v Rathnure on Tuesday evening in Bree to book their place in the Premier final. The girls led at half time 0-7 to 1-01 thanks to polished free taking from Cora Doyle and while Rathnure threw everything they had at us in the second half the girls withstood attack after attack in a gutsy performance to stay 2 points ahead at the final whistle.

Our U18 team resume their championship campaign next Tuesday evening v Moyeady Bridge in Farmleigh at 7pm.

Our Junior Camogie team played Taghmon Camross away on Thursday in championship and battled back from an 8 point deficit to force a draw with a last minute goal.

The camogie club would like to wish a speedy recovery to U14 star Sadbh Neville who sustained an injury in a practice match earlier this week.

Our U9 and 10s played Shelmaliers in Hollymount on Friday evening in hurling and Rathgarogue Cushinstown on Sunday morning and there were periods of great skill on display on both occasions.

U12 hurling- our Blue team had a great 2 point win over St Martins while the Green team were beaten on Thursday evening. On Saturday the White team had a convincing win against Ballyhogue.

Our U16 A team have reached the business end of the Premier Championship and will contest the quarter final in Oylegate on Monday at 7pm v Oylegate Glenbrien.

Well done to our Minor hurlers who defeated Faythe Harriers on Wednesday evening 1-24 to 2-6 and now advance to the Co. Semi final.

It was a fantastic night for the club on Tuesday evening as our U21s booked a Co. Premier final spot by defeating Rapparees in Killurin 0-14 to 0-12. Sharpshooter Aaron Kehoe(0-08) was in excellent form with placed balls (0-07 from frees) with Fionn Cooney, (0-3) Rowan White, Murtagh Joyce & Ian Moran (0-1 each) completing the scoring tally. A sterling performance from our defenders and an all round gritty attitude from the team as a whole gave spectators an exciting game and pits us against near neighbours Crossabeg-Ballymurn for the final at a date to be determined.

The weekend brought more good fortune with the Intermediate footballers clocking up an impressive score of 4-12- to Ferns' tally of 1-5 in their championship game but on Sunday the luck ran out as the Junior footballers were beaten by Blackwater in Hollymount.

Ladies football

Our Junior Ladies footballers played their quarter final on Sunday evening in Clonee and while the scoring was tight for most of the game Clonee pulled away in the end for victory.
