Murrintown N.S. 10K

The Annual Murrintown N.S. 10 k will take place on 20th September at 12 noon. This year a shorter 5k Colour Run has also been added, in which children accompanied by an adult can participate. Children may enter on race day. The charge for primary school pupils will be €5.

This event is generously sponsored by Traynors Hardware of Wexford. Registration is available on Race fees are :10 k-€15, 5 k : €10. Number Collection and registration is available at Murrintown Community Centre, Sat 19th Sept 6-8 pm; also Sunday morning 9.30 am-11.30 am.

Squash Hall Open- cost €8 per session non- members (2people) €4 per session for members. Our Community Library is open to the public, lot's of books available in this free service. The centre is available for hire for children's birthday parties. Please ring or email centre for details.

Table Quiz

Table Quiz in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre will be held in Wexford Golf Club on Saturday 26th September at 8.30pm. Table of 4 €30.00 please come along and support this worthy cause.

Scout Group

Scout group now re-opened for Meetings. Beavers Thursday nights 6.30-7.30 pm: Cubs and Scouts 7.30-9pm on Tuesdays.

If any family have used Scout Jumpers for Beavers or Cubs and shirts for Scouts, belts/neckerchiefs in good condition which you would like to 'recycle' please drop

Upto the hall any Tues evening. We can re-sell them for you. Uniform costs have increased again and it would be a great help to parents to be able to purchase good condition used uniform parts at a reasonable rate. Weekly subscription €3.00. Registration €45.00 per youth member.

Rosslare Harbour


Deepest Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of John (Sean) Pierce, Westwinds, Kilrane and formerly Milltown, Dublin who passed away at Wexford General Hospital on 4th September and whose remains were laid to rest in St Aidan's cemetary, following funeral Mass in St Ruan's Church, Kilrane.

Sympathy also to Eileen Wickham and family Rockfield, Ballyhire, Kilrane on the death of her sister Ann Fitzsimons (nee Moynihan) Terenure and formerly Wexford town. May they rest in peace.

ICA guild

The guild would like to remind everyone that the National Hospice Coffee Morning will be held in Hotel Rosslare from 9.30am to 11.30am on Thursday 17th September. Please come and help support the work of the hospices around the country and especially here in our own town and county.

So come along and have a natter with your friends and a cuppa or two, knowing you will help to make things a little easier for families during a very stressful.


The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 6th October at 3.00pm, at the Hotel Rosslare. There will be committee at 2.00pm at the same location. Anyone who is retired or semi-retired is welcome to join Active Retirement. Please come along to the meeting and introduce yourself. You will be very welcome.

Jim or Mairead will be in the Foyer of the Rosslare Hotel on Friday Mornings from 11.00am to 12.00 noon to take bookings from those interested.

Bowling: Interest has been expressed in re-starting the indoor bowling. Anybody who is interested please come to the Railway Social club on Thursday, 25th October, 2015 and we shall see if we can "get the bowl rolling".

St. Mary's GAA Coiste na nOg: We are running a Guess the Score for the All Ireland Football Final. Each underage player will given a card this week, all cards must be returned before Sat 19th Sept. All monies raised will be used for the underage section of the club. Please support this worthy cause by buying a line from any of our underage players.

St. Paul's AC

Well done to all who ran our 4th annual Road Race. Ferrybank's Andrew Connick took top honours finishing ahead of Martin Askins (SBR) and Andrew Dowse (Croghan)in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Kilmore made it a clean sweep in the women's race lead home by Jackie Carthy, followed by Fiona Kehoe and Helen Doyle. This meant that Kilmore won the Women's team prize, whilst Croghan won the Mens.

Masters category winners were as follows: Men 040-Niall Crosbie (Kilmore), Men 050- Ger Maloney (St. Pauls), Men 060-Michael Fattrell, Women 040-Mary Kennedy (Croghan), Women 050 Mary Gaynor (Menapians). Also first Junior Man-Sammy Delaney, St. Pauls Full Results can be found on our Facebook page.

Fancy learning a new skill? Have you always wanted to give tennis a go? Well this is for you! Come and join us…the kids are back at school and you finally have some me time.

We have secured professional coach Ashley Wynne to come to Rosslare and give 6 free lessons, suitable for all levels, starting on Friday 18th September (Time TBC). Lessons are free however booking is essential so call 053 9132202.

Rosslare Youth Club

Club meet every Friday from 7pm-9pm each week for secondary school students. Our plans are already coming together with our dates filling up with activities. €2 per week. High Tea & Talk

We are delighted to announce that we raised €173.81 at our High Tea and Talk last Thursday in aid of Suicide Prevention. Thanks to everyone who came along to support us and also Thanks again to Murphy's SuperValu Rosslare for donating the delicious buns and cakes.
