Church Gate Collection
The important and outstanding voluntary work undertaken by a group of locals to highlight the attractions of our local area and to keep alive the proud memories of 1798 deserve widespread and ongoing support.
The Jean Kennedy-Smith Walk, The UnYoke Walk and Cosán na Glóire as well as An Abhallann (Orchard of Native Apple Trees) provide attractions and amenities for visitor as well as locals. While the work of the Committee is completely voluntary it goes without saying that quite an amount of expenditure was needed to complete the works to date.
To give everyone in the area an opportunity to support the ongoing work, Oulart Hill Development Group will hold a Church Gate Collection in Oulart and The Ballagh on the weekend of 14th/15th November. Donations may also be given to any officers or committee member. Your financial and practical support is always appreciated..
Mullingar here we come!
Oulart-The Ballagh senior hurlers, management and supporters will travel to Mullingar on Sunday 15th November to play the Westmeath champions, Clonkill in the 2nd round of the Leinster senior club-championship.
Having accounted for Clough/Ballacolla, Co. Laois, in Portlaoise last week, the Wexford champions have another "away" fixture to fulfill. Let's hope that the fog that engulfed Cusack Park the last time we played there will be non-existent this time! Meanwhile let's savour the hard-fought victory against gallant Clough/Ballacolla.
When the chips were down, the men-in-red-and-black stood up to be counted and, despite a poor start, created and took their goal chances, to emerge victorious by 4 points. Supporters are asked to keep the flags, banners and bunting in place and follow the team wherever they play.
