PARENTS ASSOCIATION

Barntown National School Parents Association will be hosting a Festive Coffee Morning and a Raffle, on Sunday 13th December. The event will take place in the School Hall immediately after 11 o'clock mass. Donations of cakes and raffle prizes gratefully accepted.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Taghmon Action Group are running a Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday 6th December 11am to 4 pm. Over 30 stalls on display including Christmas Cooking Demonstration, Christmas Flower Arranging, Santa's Postbox, Bouncy Castle and much much more. GLYNN CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

The annual Christmas Bazaar will take place in Glynn Hall on Sunday 13th December, starting immediately after 10 o'clock mass and will run until 1 pm. Plenty on offer for the whole family. Teas and coffees will be served up in the kitchen. We look forward to seeing you there.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

The annual St. Vincent de Paul collection takes place in the Parish this weekend, 5th and 6th December. Your support for this appeal would be greatly appreciated.

FLOWER ARRANGING

Flower arranging demonstration evening by Lily Bloom florist in aid of Wexford Swimming Club. Tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd December at 7.30 pm in Piercestown Guide and Scout hall. €10 per ticket, door prize, raffle and light refreshments. SANTA'S COMING TO TOWN

Glynn Barntown Camogie Club are delighted to welcome Santa Claus to the clubhouse on Saturday December 12th from 5pm-7pm. €5 per child-U.2s free. Music, refreshments, face painting etc. Donations of mince pies/cakes would be much appreciated on the morning of Saturday 12th December to the clubhouse please.

COISTE NA NÓG

Thanks to all who attended the Coiste na nÓg AGM on Friday last and to anyone who contributed ideas/opinions on or before the night. The club are looking forward to 2016 already!

The annual craft Fair is on Sunday 6th December in Murrintown Community Centre from 10am to 5pm

Come along to browse through a Wonderful array of handmade local crafts and pick up some unique Christmas gifts, enjoy a cuppa with a bite of something nice and maybe win one of our fabulous door prizes.

One of Wexford's best known craft fairs now in our 10th year running. Crafts this year include photography, wood turning, jewellery, home baking, and Christmas crafts, to name but a few and there's even an opportunity to relax with a head and shoulder massage.

Are you over 55, you can help make Co Wexford a good place to grow old in? Is your village/town safe? Do you have access to public services and health services that you need, do you have an input into decisions about your locality.

You are invited to attend your Local Wexford Age Friendly County Public Consultation in St Martins Community Centre on Thursday 10th December at 7.30pm.

Please come along, this is an opportunity to voice your opinions and bring a friend. These Consultations are Free, this meeting is organised by Wexford Co Council. Items for discussion will include Outdoor Spaces & Buildings: Transportation in area: social participation: housing: Respect & Social Inclusion: Community Support and Health Services: Communication & Information: Civic Particpation and Employment:

Scouts news

Our Annual Christmas Draw tickets are out now and your support in selling and buying tickets (book of 3 for €2.00) will be very much appreciated - 7 good prizes, funds raised will be used to subsidize Annual Camp for all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Our Thrift Fund (Savings club) will be paid out first week in December.

Scout Thrift Fund Savings Fund: All boys and parents family members or friends maybe would consider saving in our Thrift fund as this is our second Annual Fundraising activity during the year. All monies raised here goes towards the running of the troop, paying for leaders training, weekly equipment needs for all sections, and all other needs of the group throughout the year. It is also a great way for boys to save for Camp and for adults to save for Christmas.

Your support is very much appreciated.

Taghmon/ Camross

Dancing at Camross

All roads will lead to Camross Ballroom on this Friday, 4th December when Glen Flynn will have you all dancing the night away. The Jiving competition will also take place with those selected going forward to the National final in Claremorris in February. Adm €8 including The Tea and Rudolph might even drop in.

Camross ICA

The December meeting will be held on Monday 7th at 8pm in Camross Hall. Sasha Kelly, specialising in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) will be our guest speaker. The competition will be for the best funky or mismatched shoes with proceeds to mental health, St. Patrick's Hospital 'Walk in my Shoes' campaign. New members are always welcome.

Camross Drama Group

The group have had a successful run of the One-act plays, 'Rainbows is the Boys' and 'The Proposal'-8 performances overall. 'Rainbows' was in four festivals, facing stiff competition and getting positive adjudications, several nominations for best actress and director and a third place in Gorey Confined section.

This year, we are celebrating our 60th anniversary with a 'do'; on Tuesday 8th December at 8.30pm in Camross Hall. Reminder. Christmas flower demonstration with Bernie Delaney from Wallace's of Wellington Bridge on Wednesday 9th December at 7.30pm in the Scout Hall. All are welcome. Bernie will be raffling her arrangements so bring your purses/wallets!

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE

Santa and Mrs. Clause will be arriving at the Centre in Joseph Street by Pony and Trap on Thursday afternoon, 3rd December at 2pm and will stay until 4pm. All are welcome to come and visit, have some fun and meet Giggles the Elf Too!

Santa's Grotto will be €2 per child. Our Women's Craft Groups and Men's Shed will be displaying the work they have carried out during the year.Refreshments will be served.

Taghmon's young players had a great day at the County Underage Blitz in Enniscorthy last Sunday. A big thank you to all the parents and children for attending this event. Taghmon's BLITZ results.

In the under 13 Singles the following players won out their group-Chloe Carroll, Maurice Cogley, Libby O'Brien, Jacky Kelly. In the U13 Doubles Annie Nolan & Libby O'Brien, Ben Furlong & Maurice Cogley, Jack Kelly & James Kelly were all winners.

The U17's showed wins for James Mackenzie, Paddy Nolan in Singles, Patrick O'Reagan and Michael Carroll won runners up prizes. In the U17 Doubles James Mackenzie & John Crosbie won group 1, whilst Patrick O'Regan and Paddy Nolan took the runners up prize.

A great day was had by all our underage players at a very well run event by County Underage Officer Laura Lynch. A big thank you to Mairin Furlong and Imelda Dempsey for their excellent photography on the day, the results of which can be viewed on our facebook page.

Mixed League results for the week are as follows:- Div 6A Shelbourne 2, Taghmon 7. Div 6B Taghmon 5, Gorey 4.

County Tournament Organiser Deirdre Dunne got the Charity Fixtures off to a great start on 27th November. On 4th December it will be the turn of the 6th Division players to battle it out for a place in the finals. The Finals of the Charity will be held in Ramsgrange on 13th December.

There is a Craft Fair in Taghmon Action Group centre and Teach Spraoi childcare centre, Taghmon village, this Sunday 6th December from 11am-4pm, with baking and Flower Arranging demonstrations, pongo, children can write and post letter to Santa, face painting bouncy castle and much more, loads of lovely crafts on sale on the day.

Come along and grab a bargain or find that special Christmas Gift for the Special people in your life at affordable prices. Teas will be served and all indoors so no worries about the weather.

GAA club Notes

The Taghmon Camross GAA Club adult AGM takes place this Friday night 4th December at 7.30pm in the community centre. All players, members and intending members are invited to attend when the year gone by will be reviewed and committee and Selectors for 2016 season will be discussed.So if you would like to get involved with your local club please come on in on Friday night.

There is still no fixture for the County semi final of U21 football, but likely to be on the 12th or 19th December. against the Gorey district winners.

The Club Lotto takes place this Tuesday night 1st December in the Centre when the Jackpot will be €10,400, please have your tickets in by 8pm.

A big congratulations to our Taghmon Camross GAA Centre on winning the Best Pub award at the final of the Taghmon's Got Talent 2015 in the Horse & Hound last Friday night. Well done to Mick Carty and all his cast of the show and backroom staff.
