The weekly '30 Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 5th February at 9pm. Catering on the night will be: Cathy Delaney, Helen Furlong & Breda Bolger. Catering on Fri 12th Feb will be: Mary J Furlong & Frances Gallagher.

Athletics Club

The Athletics club will be hosting a Fashion Show in the Horse and Hound on Friday 19th February 2016. The event kicks off at 8pm sharp. The fashion show will feature the latest fashion from Lulu's Boutique, Si Jolie Boutique, The Loft Wexford , Wallaces Wellingtonbridge and Helen's French and Danish clothing lines. Entertainment on the night by DJ Liam Sharkey. There will be a door prize and spot prizes and raffle on the night. Proceeds on the night will go to the Athletic Club and to Console. Tickets are €10 and are now on sale. Please support.

Adamstown Lotto

The next draw in the Adamstown Lotto takes place this Monday 1st Feb in Brad Ogs, Adamstwon for a jackpot of €15,700. Don't forget to buy your ticket and it just could be you. All proceeds go to Adamstown GAA Soccer Club & Parish Committee.

Adamstown Jockey, Jonathan Moore, Tomgarrow had a win for Paul Nolan on the Mooch 12/1 in the Sandyford Handicap Chase at Leopardstown on Sunday 24th January. Jonathan has ridden seven winners since Christmas. Well done Jonathan.

Story telling group

A fantastic night of entertainment was had by all on Wednesday night in the Big Tree Lounge. Thanks to all who attended both young and old and to the new visitors too. A fantastic welcome was extended to all by Tony his daughter and all the staff thank you for laying on the tea and refreshments for all to those who brought lovely cakes and buns and as ever to those who donated prizes for the Raffle thank you a list of the raffle winner s will be printed along with the date for the next session next week

Glenbrien NS

Our school will take part in this year's national Catholic Schools week from Sunday 31st January to Saturday 5th February. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 2nd at 9.30am.....all are welcome.

As part of this week Glenbrien Parents Association in conjunction with the school will host Grandparents day on Thursday 4th February at 12 noon. Parents are asked to donate some home bakes-scones, buns or tray bakes for the event. Any bakes can be left into school at 9am on Rhursday morning 4th February.

Tuesday 9th February is Pancake Day if you can make some pancakes for the children on the day please let any member of the PA know-all donations greatly appreciated.

There is an Anti Bullying Workshop for all parents and guardians on Thursday 11th February in the school. This event will be hosted the national Parents Council in the school-all parents are invited to attend. Please confirm to the PA if you would like to attend tea and coffee will be served.

On Saturday 13th February there will be a fundraising night in aid of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust, in the lounge of Mernagh's Pub in Oylegate. The Trust bring children and young adults with special needs to Lourdes at Easter.

Live music will be provided by The Jumptones from 9:00pm until late on the night. Entry is €5 and there will be a door prize and a raffle on the night. If you wish to support the event in advance tickets are available from Danielle 086 8941580 or Theresa 087 9714323. Come along and enjoy a night of great music while also supporting a very worthy cause!

There will be a registration night held on Friday 12th February from 7.30 -8.30pm in Oylegate Community Centre. We would ask that all players/parents/guardians attend. Membership for the year is as follows; Working Adults €80. Non-workingAdults/Students/U18/U16/U14/U12 €55. U10/U8 €35. Managers/Trainers/Social Members €25. Members are not insured until membership is paid.

The Pantomime returns to Oylegate with the staging of Jack and the Beanstalk, in Oylegate Community Centre on Thursday 18th, Friday 19th, Saturday 20th February at 8 p.m. nightly and on Sunday 21st February at 7 p.m. It promises to be a great night of fun and frolics for young and not so young. For booking phone 053 9138192. Admission is €10 per adult and €5 for primary school children. Early booking is advised as the show is only being staged for four nights.

Social Dancing

Sunday night 14th February is the next date for Social Dancing in Oylegate Community Centre. Music on the night is by the popular Dave Lawlor who makes a welcome return visit. Dancing is from 9.30p.m. Admission is €8 with the usual tasty refreshments for everyone.

BOOK FAIR

A Book Fair will take place in Glynn Community Centre (kitchen) on the following dates: Friday 5th February 9am-12pm, 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm, Saturday 6th February from 6-9 pm and Sunday 7th February 10.45am-1pm.

Monies raised will go towards the upkeep of the hall-your support would be greatly appreciated.

KILLURIN ROWING CLUB

Some fundraising events have been lined up for 2016 in aid of Barntown Church. Lil Fortune kicking off on Friday 5th February with a Tea Morning from 9am to 12noon, all welcome in aid of Barntown Church. Your support would be much appreciated!

This will be followed with Maura Rossiter's Tea/Coffee morning on Thursday 11th February from 10am to 2pm. More Tea/Coffee mornings to follow and we will keep you updated. CAMOGIE

On Saturday 20th February at 3pm at the pitch in Glynn, Antoinette Stafford will be there to give some guidelines and advice for children's warm up and stretching, including pointers on running technique. Glynn-Barntown Camogie Club are reconditioning used hurls (cleaning, sanding, oiling and gripping!) and are asking families to donate used hurls to be spruced up and available for sale at club registration night in March. Hurls can be dropped to the clubhouse on Wednesday 03rd February 6pm-7.30pm; Friday 05th February 7pm-8.30pm; Saturday February 06th 10am-11am & 5pm-6.30pm or into the box in dressing room hallway.

A disco for 1st years and up will be held on Friday 19th February in the clubhouse 8.30-11pm. Admission by ticket only at €5 each. Tickets on sale Monday February 15th 7pm-7.30pm in the clubhouse.

Hard luck to Loreto Wexford and our own club girls Clodagh Jackman, Aisling Halligan and Eva Crean, defeated in their Leinster Junior Camogie final by Loreto Kilkenny on Saturday in Bunclody.

A sports quiz in aid of Lady's Hospital Crumlin, IRFU trust will be held in Mernagh's on February 8th. Team of 4 costs €40.

Operation Transformation

Crossabeg Ballymurn Ladies Gaelic Football Club's Operation Transformation with "Between the Bells" began with large numbers last Tuesday night in Crossabeg Community Field. Kids in buggies, young children, parents and grandparents from Oylegate, Glenbrien, Crossabeg and Ballymurn turned up in large numbers to walk, jog and run "Between the Bells". After warming up, a bell is rung and 30 minutes later a second bell is rung.

The distance people cover is recorded each week between now and Easter Monday. Nutrition & fitness information is provided and organised walks/runs will take place over the 10 week period. €2 per adult, €1 per u-16 to a Max of €5 per family. Come and join us again this Tuesday at 7pm.
