Thrift Fund

Piercestown Thrift fund has now re-opened for 2016. Thank you to everyone who saved with us last year.We welcome back current members this year and invite new people to join us. Why not join now and save for Christmas 2016.

Any amount can be saved. this is a great way to save for Christmas and 5c in every Euro is deducted and this amount is donated to the Piercestown Scout Group, it is one of their main fund raising events of the year, so you are not only saving but supporting a very worthy group. Collection of payments takes place on Sundays after 10am mass and on Tuesdays from 7.30pm both in Scout & Guide Hall.

We would also encourage the Beavers/Cubs and Scouts/Venturers to save in this fund for their annual camps as it will ease the burden on parents in summertime. thank you again for your support. Contact Jack Roche 087 619 1349 for further information.

Scout Group news

Piercestown Scout group established in 1978 is for the second time in its history needing new leaders in all sections. without more leaders in the Beavers/Cubs and Scouts and Venturers many events such as , hikes, Annual Camps and group activities may need to be cancelled for the coming months and this summer time as we are obliged to adhere strictly to the Child Protection Ratio Adults to Children. We ask the current parents, or other adults out there to please come and talk to the Group Leader, Jane Power any Tuesday night with regard to giving time to help out.

Training will be given in full so you don't need to know any scouting skills before you join. Cubs and Scouts meet on Tuesdays and Beavers meet on Thursdays. Please help us out, your support is vital for these young members to take part in all the great activities coming up over the rest of the scouting year. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
