Corach Ramblers fc

This weeks Split the Pot draw took place in Colfers Pub, Carrig on Bannow. The winner was Vera Wallace, Duncannon. Ticket was drawn by John Murphy, winning a brilliant €830 Well done Vera.

Corach Ladies had a great win today against a weakened Bunclody team. Goals from Sara Byrne 2, Sinead O Connor, Trina Sinnott and Olivia Scott. The girls keep their winning streak going and are one step closer to winning the league. Up next is Camolin away next Sunday.

The mens A team travelled to kilmuckridge this morning and needed a win to keep to keep in touch with the pace setters. Unfortunately they lost 3.1 after a tough hard fought game. Corach were 1 down at the break after conceding a long range effort. Corach upped the tempo in the second half and deservingly got back on level terms with a penalty from John Staples. Corach had all the momentum after that but conceded a soft goal midway through the half. St Josephs wrapped up the points near the end with a third goal.

B-team went away to St Joseph's today in the Gwyn Jones cup and started the game well creating some good chances, we took the lead after a half hour when Stephen Diskin was taken down and Mark power hammered home from the penalty spot, we held on to our slim lead until 10 minutes from time when we conceded a penalty which Joseph's converted, so on to extra time we went and after a quiet first half we took the lead again at the start of the second half when Francis Wallace headed home but Joseph's kept the pressure on and unfortunately we conceded an equaliser in the last minute and lost out 5-4 on the dreaded penalties. A great effort today from all 11 players
