Ladies Choir in concert

This Friday, June 17, Wexford Ladies Choir, under their Director Nicky Clancy presents a Summer Concert in Clonard Church at 8 p.m. This year the Ladies are joined by the Wexford Male Voice Choir who are celebrating their 75th Anniversary, They will also be joined by Clarinet player Vicky Clancy and owing to popular demand Mary Byrne (X-Factor Fame) is back. Tickets (€10) are available at the door on the night.

Well done to our under-12 and under-14 girls who played to excellent games of football last Monday and Thursday, the girls are improving immensely with every game and training session, well done girls. Clonard Senior Ladies play the next round of the league away to Clongeen on Wednesday at 7.30 and play St James at home on Monday, June 20, at 7.30 p.m. - as always plenty of support is needed and appreciated.

Well done to Natasha (Nelly) Walsh Wexford Goalie and her senior county teammates on winning their first game of the Championship V Wicklow on Sunday.

Clonard Ladies will be holding a family Quiz night in Scoile Mhuire on Wednesday evening, June 29, at 7 p.m., table of four €12, we would ask all members, families, friends and supporters to support our underage girls in their first quiz night as this promises to be a night of fun for all the family.

Clonard Ladies would like to invite you to help them win €1,000 in Lidl Whitemill Clonard, these much needed funds will directly benefit Clonard Ladies Club, as they cater for up to 100 members which includes eight teams from age six to Senior Adult level. Clonard Ladies invite shoppers to nominate Clonard Ladies Gaelic Football Club to be in with a chance of receiving the cash with the overall winners being decided based on who receives the most nominations. This fantastic initiative has commenced now till July. Tractor Run

Our annual Tractor Run takes place on Sunday, June 26, with lunch served in Murrintown Community Centre. All proceeds from this event will go towards the development of our new cemetery here in Murrintown. La Ruta del Murrintowneo 100k and 40K Cycle Sportive takes place on June 26. Registration in Murrintown National School from 8.30 a.m. on Sunday morning and from 7-8.30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Event leaves Murrintown at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

On Monday, June 27, a meeting will be held in the Community Hall at 7.30 p.m. to set up Text Alert. Everyone interested in signing up to Text Alert is invited to come along.

The Gardaí and Muintir na Tire Representative will be in attendance. We will also have information on alarms and home security. Thanks to all who supported our fundraising efforts. We are very grateful to Cllr Ger Carthy for organising our signage around the area.

Tidy Towns

Niamh Lennon, Wexford County Council has kindly agreed to lead the walk and talk on the subject of bats on Friday, June 17, at 9.15 p.m. at the Grove, Rosslare. All are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear high viz jackets and bring a small flashlight.
