The St Fintan's GAA lotto now stands at €3,300 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. and from club members at a cost of €1.50. Ladies gaa Underage
Well done to the under-10 girls, who made an early morning start for a 10.30 a.m. fixture in Piercestown to take part in blitz hosted by St Martin's. Nineteen girls turned up on the morning and the numbers were split so as to field two teams. Both teams played some excellent football against teams from Martins, Annes and Kilmore and well done to all involved and a big thanks to St Martin's for having us and to all you Mammies and Daddies for bringing the girls to the games, as well as training week in week out (even if meant no extra rest in the morning).
Thanks to Mary and Annmarie who looked after one team this morning and Chris who helped me out with the other scoring a couple of goals and putting our backline under pressure but the girls held firm led by captain Eimear Fahy and full back Rebecca foley. Following the break the Fintans girls got back into there stride with more scores from Emily, Michelle Cullen and Eimear with good performances all round the girls came out on top, St Fintan's 3-17 Bannow-Ballymitty 4-6,
Well done to our under-10 girls who travelled to St Martin's to take on the home side, a great team performance by all fifteen girls who turned up on the evening. Our under-12 Girls played in the Sheild Quarter Final in Ballymore this evening against the Volunteers. All our girls had a fantastic game, their hard work, determination and most of all teamwork has paid off. We now march on to the semi-final. Keep up the great work girls so proud of you all. Not forgetting the parents thanks for all the support on the sideline.
Our under-16 girls took to the field last Wednesday evening in their last group game v Slaney Gaels it was a hard fought game with goals coming from Leanne McDonald, Tara Lambert and Michelle Cullen and points from Michelle, Aisling Gouldson and Jess Howlin, aided by a very solid defence, St Fintan's won with a score of 3-9 to 0-9 well done girls on another strong team performance and roll on the quarter finals.

St Fintan's split-the-pot monthly draw is a fundraiser organised by our adult men's team to help finance the costs associated with the running of our adult football and hurling teams.
Our Intermediate Football team have had great success to date in the Championship qualifying rounds guaranteeing themselves a Quarter Final position with two group games still to play, our Junior Footballers are still in the running for a knockout Championship game. Our Junior Hurlers have three group games remaining and will be hoping to secure a quarter final position also.
The costs associated with running the men's teams are endless and it is hoped these draws will help towards that. The draw will run for July, August and September taking place on the last Friday of each month. Tickets are €10 each and limited to just 50 tickets per month with the winner each month bagging €250. Tickets available from any of our players or from club secretary Sharon Pettit. Please support and help the lads make every effort to reach those big games come September
The Skrine family have kindly offered to host an Afternoon Tea and Garden party on Sunday, August 7, at Butlerstown Castle, in aid of Tomhaggard social centre. The Skrine family are great supporters of the Social Centre, attending many social and cultural events while Helen read stories from her book at a Story and Poetry evening.
The parish patrons will take place this year as follows Ballymore on Thursday, August 11, at 7.30 p.m. and Mayglass on Friday, August 12, at 7.30 p.m.
Soccer summer camp
The Swansea City AFC/All Blacks AFC Summer Soccer Camp takes place on Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18, at All Blacks ground at Casey Park, Mayglass, from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. daily Camp is open to all boys and girls aged seven to 14 of all abilities.

Leo Carthy Weekend
Why not join the Ballycogley Players drama group at the fourth annual Leo Carthy Weekend opens on July 30 with a variety concert in OLI Community Hall from 8 p.m. Performers on the night will include the Danescastle Music Group, Temple Michael Ceili Band, George Lawlor, Yvette Walsh, and comedy with the Ballycogley Players. Adm €10 (OAP's €8).
Sunday, July 31, begins with a 6Km run. Registration from 11:30, race start at 12:30. €10 entry fee with complementary refreshments. There is a mumming exhibition with the Drinagh Mummers at 2.30 p.m. followed by Live music with Theresa and the stars on the open air stage in Our Ladys island village.
The music and song continues from 4.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with numerous well-known local artists. There will be kids entertainment with bouncy castles, treasure hunt, and face painting, along with craft stalls, barbecue and tea and refreshments. All proceeds raised in aid of a number of local voluntary groups and the Irish Heart foundation.
Kilmore scouts took part in the Seafood festival parade in Kilmore Quay last week. Brumjammers are making final arrangements for their big adventure when 38 adults and youths head to the International scout jamboree in Birmingham from July 29 to August 6.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, supported and helped out at the annual Tractor Road Run last weekend. It was a fantastic occasion with €1,091 raised towards the Social Centre.
WoMen's Shed continues weekly Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., except August 1 (bank holiday) and August 8 (annual break). New members welcome. Reading Room open at the same time.

The Ballycogley Players were delighted to be asked to perform at St Anne's Novena variety night in Tomhaggard Social Centre on Tuesday night last. It was a fantastic nights entertainment. Well done to all those who took part, thank you to the wonderful audience and finally to the organising committee for making us feel so welcome.
Next stop for 'The Players' is next weekend at the variety concert as part of the Leo Carthy weekend. This will take place on Saturday, July 30, in Our Lady's Island community centre at 8 p.m. Admission €10, oap's €8. The night will feature Danescastle Music Group, The Temple Michael Ceilí Band, Yvette Walsh, George Lawlor, Ciara and Sinéad McCoy, Brendan Wickham and Co, Martina and Paula Keane, Paddy Scallan and comedy with the Ballycogley Players. MC will be South East Radio's Alan Corcoran. Free refreshments will be served. A night not to be missed.

Wexford's Run Ends
A late scoring spree from Kilkenny ended St Fintan's man Donal Shanleys involvement with the Wexfords intermediate hurling team for another year. This Leinster final game was played in ideal conditions at Innovate Wexford park with Kilkeeny gaining revenge for last year's final defeat on a scoreline of 3-14 to 2-14.
