Community lotto

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €4,800. The winning numbers were 2, 3, 20, and 22. Congratulations to the four match-three winners who each received €75. The match-three winners were Deirdre Sinnott, Peggy Colfer, Jack Power, Pat Gillian. The next lottery will be held on Tuesday, September 6, and the jackpot now stands at €5,100.


Philomena, Jacintha and Martin (Irish Heart Foundation Trained Community Walking Leaders) would like to invite you to come along to our new four week Strolling programme. Participating in a regular walking programme can boost energy levels, helps relieve stress, reduce the risks of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. So let's get fit and active together. We can stroll for 15 to 25 minutes taking short rest periods where needed.

Our new four week programme started on Monday, September 5, at 7 p.m. in Rathangan Hall, meeting also on Monday the 12th, 19th and 26th. Striders will also meet at the same time; we will all do warm up exercises together and walk out together. (The Community Walkway in Rathangan offers a very safe/steady place to walk.) The Striders will walk for approx 35-45 mins. Tea and coffee afterwards and a chat. TRX/Pilates Classes

TRX Classes take place in the club house every Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30 p.m. and Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9.30 a.m. For further details please contact Kevin Cogley at 086 3656233.

Pilates Classes take place in Cleariestown Community Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Bring a mat, towel and drinking water. Cost is €8 and it is recommended to book a place. For further details please contact Teresa White at 089 4620552.

Our parish AED, located on the pier of the church in Rathangan, the 24-hour number to contact our Parish AED team is 086 4011688. Call 999/112 first if you suspect a cardiac arrest and then call us. We will have exciting news over the coming weeks about additional AED's for the parish, and we look forward to sharing it with you... An invitation is extended to keen gardeners from all over Wexford to compete in this year's Gardening Show. The show will be held in the Irish Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on September 10 and 11. Any flowers, fruit and vegetables can be entered as well as homemade preserves, pot plants and floral arranging. 50th Celebration

The St Anne's junior football champions of 1966 are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their historic victory that year. This was the first ever adult county victory for the club. The venue for the celebration will be Baldwinstown Hall. This is the place which they used for togging out and planning, before going up to Rowe's field to train in the winter for the semi-final and final and where all meetings of the club took place at that time. It is hoped to have all 24 members of that team or their relatives at the function. Noel Rochford from Kilmannon is hoping to be home for it from Australia and all are looking forward to a great night on Sunday, September 18.

Fastnet Rovers fc

Fastnet Rovers are now taking new and existing registrations for the upcoming season. We are also entering and under-10 and under-12 girls' team next season. Please check out Fastnet Rovers AFC on Facebook or contact the club if you are interested.

Money for Jam

Calling all jam making a blackberry picking enthusiasts. The forthcoming Harvest Festival to be held in Duncormick on October 1 and two, are looking for your help. If you are in the habit of jam making, why not donate some of your produce to our 'Money for Jam Appeal'. The idea is to fundraise for the upkeep of Church grounds at Duncormick Church. Registration for new scouting year takes place in Tomhaggard social centre on Wednesday, September 7, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. There are places available for new members in Beaver section (6-8), Ventures (15-18), very limited places in Cubs (9-11) and Scouts (12-15).

We're also looking for adults who would like to be Scouters or part of parents and friends group. Registration Fee to Head Office, €45 can be paid in increments. Meetings resume on Wednesday, September 14, 7-8.30 and Sat 10-11.30. Details 087 6858480.

Irish Dancing

An Irish Dancing class is starting in Tomhaggard social centre on Wednesday, September 14, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Girls and Boys are welcome from three yrs of age. For more information contact 087 9364255.

Tomhaggard centre

Women's Shed continues every Monday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., new members welcome. Reading Room open to the public when Social Centre is in use, where you can borrow, swop or read a large range of books.

What other activities would you like to see at the centre? Some ideas so far - Film Club, Board Games Club, Children's Reading Club, Yoga, Exercise club, Social dancing etc.

Breakfast Morning

A Breakfast Morning will be held in Kilmore hall on Sunday, September 11, 9.30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Full Irish Breakfast €5, proceeds in aid of Tomhaggard social centre.


Ballycogley Players are busy with their One-act plays which will be performed in St Michael's Hall Wexford during the Fringe Festival, and Full Length play which will go on drama festival circuit in spring.
